I’m a sucker for cathedrals, and I’m not on the halo band wagon, so I voted for the second.  But I like things a little bit unique and surprising like seeing that detail on the side.  That ring is actually on my list of favorites!  Glad to see somebody else scoping out Gabriel rings!

I have a halo myself, so I do love them, but I have to say that the details on that solitaire are just so beautiful and unique… I’m voting for it!

Both are gorgeous! What carat-size diamond are you thinking of having?

@weim-love:  If you’re going with a one-carat round, I would recommend the cathedral-mounted solitare. The detailing on that setting is absolutely stunning! I love the view from the top and the side. The double prongs on the corners are beautiful, too! (By the way, I have a cathedral-mounted e-ring, but mine has long, tapered baguettes on the sides.)

I’m totally not a cathedral person. Have you tried these rings on? I suggest trying something similar on and then deciding – The girl working at the store was wearing a cathedral setting and it looked amazing on her, I tried it on and hated it. The diamond sat up waaaaaaaay high. So I suggest going and trying these settings on first before deciding.

I voted for the halo because it is beautiful, and because something about the band on the cathedral just . . . ending, not being attaching to anything, this style really irritates me lol. It’s not intigrated at all, why is it just floating there with no purpose? Looks simply wrong imo. Also I don’t like how the prongs stick out of the flowers, I would prefer if the flowers actually held the stone (like tulip prongs), but that probably looks a lot better IRL, these close-up images always make rings look chunkier than they are.

However the band preference of mine may well be crazy, obviously lots of people like this style, and the side detailing on the cathedral is lovely. They are both stunning rings. On the cathedral’s side, it is probably the more practical for daily wear. Tough choice, good luck!

Normally, I love the halos.  But there is something about ring two that makes it standout to me.  So I voted number for the second one.  Good luck deciding!

I voted for the 2nd one but I’m biased against halos

Ring two! Everyone has a halo – if that’s your thing cool, but the second one is not something you see every day!

I voted halo, but I like lower setting and cathedrals (while beautiful) terrified me when I was trying on E-rings. My ring has a halo and is extremely low set and doesn’t get hung on things or banged easily. (I tend to work hard and play harder).  However, that is just my personal preference. Both of these rings are gorgeous so the real question is which one suits you best? Can’t wait to see the final decision. Laughing

I voted ring 2, I love halos, but ring 2 is more timeless I think, and I love the detailing! I know some people don’t like cathedrals, but keep in mind, the light that comes through makes your diamond sparkle so much! I originially didn’t get a cathedral setting bc I though it would bug me with the diamond sitting up so high, but I ended up getting a cathedral setting instead of my original setting and now my diamond looks so much bigger and brighter. good luck!! 🙂
