Did she ask what you thought?  Did you remind her of what your Fiance wanted?  It seems sort of rude, I guess is the word, that she would ask him what he wants and then do the opposite.

@futuremrswood25:  That sounds like something between a mother and her son.  They need to work it out between themselves!

@futuremrswood25:  i would try mentioning it again to him and see if what was in the plan is what he is dead set on, if so me being me i would kindly explain to her thats not what he would want. wouldnt want to ruin the surprise by letting him know. Its you and him and what you both want not everyone else.

‘oh it’s great and it will be perfect with a few changes. I guess the jeweler forgot about the black gold – i’ll call him tonight and get him to make the change’

say it sweetly with a smile on your face. she’ll either have to fess up, or let you call and make the change. and when you call, the jeweler might tell you what really happened.

I wouldn’t mention it to him. You can always buy him the ring he wants and he can wear the one his mom designed on special occassions?

Oh ouch.  That’s way off the mark.  I’d reiterate to her that that wasn’t what he wanted.  I mean, it’s silly to try and custom something for someone that they don’t even like.  If your Fiance is the type who can’t pull off pretending to be grateful while hating something, I might give him a heads up.  If he can poker face well, then let it go.

Personally, I’d want to know.  But I think it’s weird his mother is doing his ring for him in the first place.

Personally I would tell him about it and see what his opinion is. He is the one who has to wear it forever.

@futuremrswood25:  sure you can. if you ordered it with black, and didn’t get black, they have to fix it.

IF however, when you call they say that Mother-In-Law ordered it without black then you have a whole other problem.
