Are you close to diamond bar?  I suggest the Diamond Bar Center.  Their price is very reasonable and they have several rooms that will accommodate different event size.  It may be difficult to get reservations, but i’m sure sundays aren’t tough.  http://www.ci.diamond-bar.ca.us/index.aspx?page=854

Is there a certain area you’re looking for? OC, LA, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Riverside, etc?

I like the idea of using a local park.  Mountaintop Park in Rancho Penasquitos is one of my favorites since it sits atop a hill.  On a clear day, you can see the ocean.  It would be great to do an outdoor event there.  The price to reserve it is low.  You’ll need to get rentals and it would be more DIY.  But I think the location would be real fun.

Hi there! I’m getting married at Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano. I really love it. You should check it out! The venue fee is about 3500$ and they have a wonderful onsite caterer (24Carrots) which is in addition to the site fee.

@jurapow:  When it was all said and done, my venue, food, rentals (chairs, serving wear etc) from Franciscan Gardens was about 19k. That doesn’t include flowers, photo, dress, etc…. just the items the venue provided. With that said, we opted for a sit down meal, and an open bar for 150 people on a Saturday, so we pretty much picked the most expensive options. You could definitely get it for much, much less! They are very willing to find a way to make it work for your budget. I recommend calling them and setting up a free consult to go over what you’re looking for with them!
