- Wedding: April 2011
So, the wedding is about four months and I am beginning to feel very stressed! I am worried about finalizing the reception decor and centerpieces. I have a very specific look in mind, but can’t find what I am looking for for the LIFE of me!
I am doing a peacock themed wedding (mostly the colors, with a few feathers here and there). We are doing jewel tones for our color scheme, and baby’s breath will be one of the main flowers. I will be doing large poofs of baby’s breath in tall black vases to line the aisle, which will also double as some of the centerpieces for the reception.
However, I am having the hardest time finding the kind of vase that I am looking for. I really want them to be black, or at least be a material that I can paint. I want them to be dramatic (taller than 16 inches) but no taller then let’s say 24 inches. The only vases I have been able to find in my price range are black eiffel tower vases. however, those are far too modern looking. we are adding a lot of vintage elements, and I don’t think the eiffel tower vases match with that. (DO YOU? SUGGESTIONS PLEASE?)
If you have any suggestions for me or a place to get these tall black vases, let me know. I don’t want to spend more than 15-20 dollars on the vases, and I need 10 of them. They need to have a wide enough mouth that i can fit SEVERAL stems of baby’s breath in them. However, not too wide because they need to by thin enough so that the baby’s breath makes a pretty poof.
In some of the pictures below the baby’s breath is not a natural poof–a form is used to create that perfectly round look. This is the look I am giong for–but my poofs will probably be a bit more natural and not as round looking.
any help=greatly appreciated!
