@nyc new bee:  Glad I could help.  And seriously, I saw this Forever Yours version in person and I thought it was the real thing.  Hope you  like it!  I was definitely drawn to it for it’s fun flair, but I already had my dress.  We were looking for MOB dresses and I saw it.

If the Jim Hjelm new is out of your price range, you can probably find the dress used for a lot less.  I’ve seen it in person and it’s beautiful… fun, flirty, romantic.

I found it used for half of the retail value: http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dresses/24515/Jim-Hjelm-8962-Size-6.html

Good luck!

ETA:  You might like this similar but cheaper Alita Graham dress:  http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/alita-graham-brides  I saw it on an episode of say yes to the dress (the bride actually tried on both this one and the Jim Hjelm in question) and I actually liked it even more than the JH dress.

The Jim Hjelm is beautiful. I tried it on. There is a lot of fabric, but there is only crinoline at the very bottom of the dress, so it really retains an a-line shape and doesn’t look like a ball gown. I wanted something that showed off my figure more – but if you can find a sample or a used dress, I highly recommend it.

I tried it on.  It’s a beautiful dress, but it is heavy (at least to me it was) and I was hot…but I always get hot when I’m nervouse.  I think it is really flattering though!  I love Jim Hjelm.  I designed a dress based on his 8663…I hope it turns out!
