Bees, I’m worried about my dress. I completely forget what material it is and the style can’t be looked up online (something about not wanting it to be copied? I don’t buy that… but I’m not an expert on wedding dresses!). Anyway, I was looking at photos that my mom took with her regular point-and-shoot in the store and it looks SO SHINY. Do you think it will look shiny in professional photos on our wedding day? Tell me the truth… there might still be time to change dresses.
As a sidenote, does anyone have any idea what dress this is? Style? Name? Designer?

That dress is beautiful! I def don’t think you have to worry about it being too shiny!

It is a little shiny but it is very pretty! Depending on the style of photography your photog is, I doubt it’ll show up as shiny at all in professional pics.

Your dress is gorgeous and doesn’t look too shiny to me at all.

Beautiful dress, looks like its made out of charmeuse. I don’t think it’s overly shiney and I think it definitely won’t be so in professional pics.

After I tried on my dress, my heart absolutley sank in my chest when I saw this picture. There was so much dress regret, I can’t even explain. I couldn’t believe I bought this monstrosity. I knew it didn’t look that bad in the store. I had to go back to the store with a different camera, and couldn’t believe the difference.
I was so nervous for my pro pics on the wedding day, but they turned out beautifully without a hint of shine.

I think your dress looks great ! Just like the other bees said, I dont think it will be as shiny in you pro pics. Something about lighting and different cameras just makes a huge difference 🙂

@miss mechanical: I have a satin dress and I am worried about shine too! I have seen some satin dresses photograph not so shiny looking so I plan on talking to my photographer just in case! I think your dress is very pretty!

I had pictures taken of me in my dress by a point and shoot, then by a friend with a nice camera. The fabric looks shiny with the point and shoot and beautiful, soft, flowy with the DSLR. I wouldn’t worry at all – it’ll be gorgeous the day of your wedding.
By the way – any chance your dress was bought out in the midwest? That dressing room looks a LOT like the one I was in. If so, you’ll love the seamstress there. She rocks.
