You’re 150% over budget? Is that a typo? 😩 If not I think you have bigger issues than ugly chairs. But if you’re intending to go even further over budget rent new ones.

You are way over budget! I would just leave them I don’t really think they are that bad.

Unfortunately I don’t think there is anyway to make those chairs look nice. And it sounds like you can’t rent new ones. So you are SOL!

Agree with the SOL comment based on your update. I usually don’t care about chairs but those are pretty bad. However, as a guest I would definitely appreciate more attention to food than chairs so I think it’ll be fine.

littlecats :  $5000 is still a lot of money. Unless you’ve got it growing on trees. I still say stick with the ugly chairs!

I don’t think they are that bad, but it’s you opinion that counts.I would not add bows or sashes or covers of any sort. You know the old saying “like lipstick on a pig”…

I would incorporate the chairs into your color palette so it looks deliberate.

Check out this wedding where the bride used the chairs from the community hall as the base for her whole color palette.

As a designer I agree with pp, leave the chairs and find a way to incorporate the color, it’s a much more modern take than trying to put bows or whatever on them.

Woah. I normally say nobody will notice the chairs but these are blue. I agree with Julie and op – figure out how to incorporate that color and everything will look great!
