What is the color and clarity?

To me it sounds overpriced. How much is the setting vs the center diamond? An ideal cut, VVS1, F color diamond on blue nile for .61 carats is $2600. I can’t see your setting costing $2400…does it? It just seems like your getting very little for the price.

@ashley1991:  Depends where it’s from. If you’re buying from Birks, that sounds about right. You pay a lot for the name.

That sounds overpriced to me, but price can depend on lots of things including 1) clarity 2) brand name and c) color, and we don’t know any of those details.

I wouldn’t pay that for a ring of that size, regardless of the quality of the diamonds because I know what can be purchased for that amount.  I’m also not impressed by names and don’t subscribe to the Canadian diamond hype. I suggest shopping around

It sounds seriously overpriced to me…have you looked at blue nile or james allen? Might be worth it, just to compare the price of the stone/setting with what you’re getting.

I just went on blue nile and priced out a ring for you…the center is 0.9 carats, very good cut, I color, VS2 clarity. (Not the very highest specs, but eye-clean and near-colorless.) The setting is 18k gold, halo, with 58 round diamonds totaling 0.39 carats.

And blue nile only sells conflict-free diamonds, if that’s what you’re concerned with (and tried to avoid with a canadian diamond).

Keep looking online- you could wind up with twice the ring for the same price 🙂 Just stick to the reputable sites.

Edit: here’s a link, hopefully it’ll work! http://www.bluenile.com/build-your-own-diamond-ring?forceStep=STYLE_STEP&offer_id=33363

Edit again! Forgot to post the price: $5195

I looked at Canadian diamonds for awhile, but they were too pricey for me. I think that 5k sounds about right for them, though!
