Limousine:  is your budget $800 for the stone or the whole ring?

I have a diamond ring on a custom platinum band that falls within your specifications and budget.  It is a hair over half a carat and sparkles beautifully.  I don’t know if such posts are allowed on the board but if you’re interested, you can private message me.

Bridal Monkey has a gorgeous ring.  It will be difficult to do any better with your budget.

I agree with others – if she would want to pass it as a diamond, what she is really saying is she wants a diamond.

Limousine:  NO!! The Amora moissanite is a coating ontop of a moissanite that voids the moissanite warranty By The Way. NO!!

this isn’t actually sapposed to be available in the US yet but I got one.. there are a few places that have them.

They are completely colorless and honestly you can get one that’s more comparable to a diamond like F SI2.. It’s awesome! Defiantely fooled my jeweler at first bc it’s not yellowish so they said can’t be moissanite.

mrssloan2013:  Thanks, ladies!  Having a platinum solitaire is a nice option but I don’t need two engagement rings!  I was considering getting another stone and turning it into a set of stud earrings but I’m also open to letting it go.

Limousine:  No worries, just wanted to help!  It’s a good thing you know what metal she prefers.  The other ladies can better articulate the metal’s effect on the stone but I think if you choose yellow gold prongs it may hide some yellowness in a diamond, allowing you to get away with a less expensive, lower color grade diamond.

I guess I’ll just have to transform my smaller solitaire into a pair of studs.
