i am having a hard time deciding which color shirt for the groom & groomsmen. I do not want my dress to look dirty But I want him to look sharp as well. I have that alfred angelo ariel dress in diamond white. Pics Included. Please give me some advice! I want it to look good.

The groom’s white shirt does not make a brie’s dress look dirty or dingy.
Firstly, his shirt is not next to your dress, his tuxedo or suit is.
Secondly, he shoud wear what will make him look good and nothing does that better than a crisp white shirt.

Sorry, I meant Vest**** correction, his shirt will be white & the groomsmen but what about his vest & Tie.

For vest and tie I went with silver. It doesn’t need to be white or ivory. I had a fairly white ivory dress. I was going to go with an ivory shirt for Darling Husband but when I saw it, it looked almost cream. I think we looked great on our day!

Google image ‘groom’ you’ll see all kinds of colours.

i am wearing a white dress, my Fiance will be wearing a white shirt, white vest, white bow tie with black tux.
the groomsman will be wearing the black tux with a white shirt and the color we picked for the vest and bow tie.
neither of us have fathers, but FI’s grandfather will be wearing a black tux with white shirt and black vest and bow tie.
if my dress was ivory, then the groom would be wearing ivory instead of white.
hope this helps.

@asea_mae: Our tux guy said go white if your dress is white and ivory if your dress is ivory. It can actually make yours like a bit yellowish if his shirt is too white.

my dress was ivory and Darling Husband wore a white shirt under his grey suit… I think it looked fine.

Ivory unless your dress is a true white, which it isn’t.

My dress is Ivory and my groom is wearing light ivory shirt and ivory satin vest. He is wearing a black tux next to me. The guy where we got the tux’s put all the guys in ivory shirts with colored vest and tie. He knows best, as he dresses every wedding in town!

I wore ivory, and Darling Husband wore an ivory shirt. I thought we looked great. If the groom ever removes his jacket, then his shirt will be directly against the dress.

Thanks you guys!! Really appreciate the replies. My dress is not ivory thoug. So I’m afraid his shirt will look dirty. I think I will just get white like @wandering_gypsy. His tux is light grey. and his vest will be white.

@asea_mae: I agree. White will look great!

@wandering_gypsy: Thank you for posting this pic! Is that Watters Austin? I have a Watters dress and was worried about the white/ivory thing. This makes me feel a ton better you have no idea!!
