I think icy blue and white would be a great idea– don’t get overwhelmed, but I’m going to try to help you! (I planned in 6 months and did most of the planning in the first two)

-Call venues now. Figure out what kind of wedding you want and what kind of budget.  Get emailing with the venue’s coordinator and find out their food/drink packages.  Or if you want to do this yourself, find a caterer or start delegating cooking tasks.

-Are you going to have a bridal party? If so, pick them now and send them a message.  If you want to use David’s Bridal, tell them to get their butts over there ASAP (politely of course). You can call DB and set up a wedding party with your colors/ideas.  I picked a color and told my bridesmaids to get any knee-length dress in that color.  (If you pick icy blue, make sure it won’t wash them out.  Or you could pick silver dresses? I think that would look classy!)

-I printed my own invites– draft something up in word and then get some help putting a stamp on them or mounting them.  We did this in an afternoon with my mom, my SIL, and my Mother-In-Law.  (These were the most frustrating to me because it took so long to pick something I liked– once you find something you like, stick with it and don’t second guess yourself!

-We did a photobooth for favors so all it took was a call and a deposit to set things up for that.

-Photographers sometimes have discounts for winter weddings.  Start googling, make the call and place the deposit.

You can really get the brunt of the calls and deposits done in a weekend, if you are confident in your decisions.  If you give us more details about what you want for your wedding maybe we can give more specific advice?

My daughter’s wedding is also a winter Melbourne Wedding and she is doing similar colours. off white wedding dress and everything else in black, silver and grey. Classical colours and great for a winter wedding.

When talking to a venue, you may want to consider asking if they will still have their christmas decor up. Many places do until after NYE (Thats why Fiance and I went with January instead of December).

Just something to consider. If you dont want a christmasey vibe/ decor that could be an important question.

Do the silver, white and graphite combo.  It will look so elegant and it will be much easier to match.  Too much blue and white can look nautical and the colors are much harder to match.  Also The Knot has an amzing checklist, it may seem a little over whelming at first but it will help keep your organized.  Good luck!

@Boundsagain:  Hi, I was just reading your post. I used the Americanbridal checklist and have lived by it for my wedding planning! It’s Americanbridal.com and search brides checklist or you can just google brides checklist and it should give you the site. The knot also has a really good checklist! Best of luck!
