Have any of you Justin Alexander 9740 ladies purchased shoes yet?  I’m starting my shoe shopping, but I’m not sure what kind of shoes I want.

selling_pronovias_primor:  My dress just came in and I will be trying it on for the first time tomorrow.  I’ll be taking it to a different store to try it on with a plain organza angel cut veil that I have picked out.  I’m either getting the veil in knee length or cathedral depending on what looks better but I’m leaning toward cathedral.  As for underneath, I plan on getting a very full slip to push out that bottom nice and big.  I’ll be sure to share pics after I try it on with everything!

Did you purchase this dress in ivory or white? I bought this dress a few months ago. I’m waiting for it to arrive in the net few weeks. I’m planning to wear a cathedral length veil with my dress, since my wedding is at a cathedral.

I ordered my Justin Alexander 9740 dress in ivory as well. Now, I’m trying to figure out if I should get my flower girls’ dresses in color white or in standard ivory (with the pale yellow-ish tinge) Which color do you think would look best next to the Justin Alexander Ivory? What color are your flower girls’ dresses going to be? Your help is greatly appreciated.

KristinGlamazon:  I purchased my dress in ivory.  I actually try it on tonight for the first time!! Yayy!  Do you have any pics?? Would love to see the cathedral veil!!

As for the flower girl dress, this was an issue for me.  We ended up ordering 3 different dresses from a website that is free shipping/returns.  I ordered Ivory in all 3 and each one of them was a different color.  One was too white, one was too yellow and luckily the one we liked the best was just the right match.  It truly depends on the designer whether white or ivory will look better, especially since the JA ivory is more diamond white in my opinion.

But anyway, this is the dress that my flower girl is wearing….

We are having a sash made out of the exact same material and color as my bridesmaid dresses that will replace the detachable one that this dress came with.

Sorry for the late response but I just finally purchased a veil this past weekend.

I ended up going with a plain cut edge cathedral veil 108 length.  This is the pic which isn’t that great.

I didn’t go with this but I wanted to also show you a picture of 2 veils together…. one long plain cathedral topped with a shorter veil for heighth and fullness.

I realized you really can do whatever you want as far as a veil.  I tried a lot of different options (beaded, full, simple, short, long) and most of them looked good.  One thing I did notice though is that you may want to go either pretty short or full cathedral.  Some of the midlength veils looked a little awkward if they cut off before the actual body of the dress did.  IMO it should cut off at some point along the train unless its very short.

I will say though that there is just something about the cathedral length that gives the awe factor and elegance.  Since I went with the cathedral I opted for more simple so that I didn’t take away from the dress since its so beautiful on its own.  I’d love to hear everyone else’s opinion!

Just an update:

My dress has arrived!!!  I went for my alterations last Thursday. Even though I’m tall (5’8) I needed to get a slight hem because the shoes that I’ll be wearing are only 3 inches. The seamtress thought the slight hem would be a good idea because as I modeled the dress around the bridal showroom, the dress’ bottom would catch on the carpet when I would walk and go under the ball of my shoe. That may have been a recipe for disaster on my wedding day. Yiikes! I also got a simple bustle, which complemented the dress very well.

Anyway, I decided to go with a cathedral length veil since I’ll be getting married in a cathedral church. My veil has swarovski crystals on the entire edge of the veil. It looks beautiful. Now, I trying to figure out whether or not to wear a thin swarovski crystal headband or wear something more simple like a crystal hair comb on the side. What type of hair accessory did you decide on?
