KristinGlamazon:  I am in the exact same predicament!  I am planning on wearing my hair down and possibly pulled up to the side or half up.  I am leaning toward a simple crystal hair comb but I like the headbands too!

Are you wearing your hair up or down?

I think I’m planning to wear my hair down. I like something similar to the style below. It has a slightly vintage look to it due to the deep side part and loose waves, which I think would be very elegant. Also, with this style a simple crystal hair comb could be worn. I’m going for my hair trial in a few weeks. I plan to try this hairstyle out and then try on my dress and then try on a few different crystal hair combs. Hopefully I feel the “Wow” factor, if not then I’ll think about a soft up/down hairstyle along with a crystal headband.

KristinGlamazon:  Yes I was thinking the exact same thing or even something like this!

People have said that wearing my hair down might cover the dress too much but I love my hair down.  How do you feel about it down?  Do you think it will be fine?

I think it’ll be fine as long as your stylist curls your hair away from the face. Curling the hair towards the face may drown your look, especially in pictures. Also, I suggest making sure any bangs in the front of your hair be curled going away from the face as well. It’ll make your look very elegant and timeless. In the above picture, the bride’s bangs covering the face, in my opinion, make the bride look more casual. But, I guess it all depends on the type of wedding you’ll be having. For instance, I’m getting married in a cathedral and having  formal reception indoors, so although I want my hairstyle to look soft, the style will be refined.

KristinGlamazon:  selling_pronovias_primor:  Ok I need to vent!!! Since I finally purchased my veil, I went to my first fitting last night and took the dress back to the bridal shop.  My dress will need taken in at the bottom of the body, hemmed, bustled, and I am having extra material added to the bottom underneath (instead of purchasing a slip or petticoat).  The grand total….. ( drum roll )….. $967!!! Is this normal??? I can’t believe it!

I would say it’s normal. My bustle and very slight hem came to a little over $400. So, I can imagine if you were to add material for fullness under the skirt that it would bump the price up to around $900 simply because it’s more involved seamstressing than adding a bustle or hemming.
