  • poll: Stick with alterations on the San Patrick or cut my losses and order the V3204?

Try to get the alterations; it would be hard to sell the San Patrick.

Hurry up and order the new dress!

I’m a little bias because I loved the V3204…It made my top 3.  And I think it’s a lot more flattering that the San Patrick…as I agree that you’re swimming in a ilttle bit.  I don’t know about the price of where you live, but here the price of alteration will only be slightly less than how much the V3204 cost…so just pick the dress you feel most YOU in!

Honestly the look on your face in each dress gives me your answer.  What you write just confirms it – you seem to be forcing yourself to like the first dress (both are absolutely beautiful by the way!).

I’m in almost exactly the same boat. To alter my dress it would take a LOT of alterations – but in not convinced I could sell it.

Have you considered ordering online – dressilyme gets great reviews – and just cutting your losses?

I actually think you look nice in the Saint Patrick but if you’re not happy, you should get the new dress (the girls are right, your face tells us which dress you should pick:D you look so happy in the DB dress!).

Sorry…but honest opinion, you look so good in the second more flattering design!!! It really suits you, the other one is too big and poofy for your nice figure!

I love the “new” dress on you but there must have been something that caught your eye about the first one.

Are you okay with buying a new dress? If so go for what you feel. If you still like your current dress enough shop around for quotes.

We as brides to be change our minds alot, which can start to be costly…

    Good Luck!

Honestly I feel the first one is more flattering and bridal on you. I love the proposed alterations and if you go with an independent seamstress it shouldn’t be to costly. The proposed alterations are not to hard.

@Miss Sardine:  Agreed. That’s one of my all time favorite David’s dresses and it looks fantastic on you, about 10 times better than the first dress. I always hate to say that to ladies who have already bought a dress, but there you go.

I say buy the 2nd one.

You have already sunk money into a dress you don’t really like. Why would you want to sink even more money into and run the risk of still not liking it after alterations? And then, you don’t have time to get a new dress.

go with your gut.  If you feel like you are always going to be worrying about wearing the first one – get the second one and try to sell the first.

Man, that’s a tough one. I love the first one — especially the top — but i think that you need to feel confident and comfortable on your wedding day! You do look fantastic in the second dress.

Personally, I might keep my first alterations appointment to see how much those changes would be and then make a decision from there. I bought a sample and made quite a few changes to the dress, and it still ended up being cheaper if I ordered a comparable dress.

Honestly, from an outsider’s perspective, I think you will look lovely no matter what you do! Good luck in making a decision!

I totally adore the 1st dress but that’s because I just don’t like the style of the second. It looks great on you though.

If you can afford it, order the new dress and sell the old one. Or donate the old one to a charity and I believe you can write it off on your taxes if you don’t need $ ASAP. I’m NOT a fan of the huge train or shiny material.

Atlhough it goes against my previous statement, another thing to think about is that the first dress is by far the “classic” wedding dress, the second one is a little more trendy so try and think which dress will look more dated in say 10, 15, 20 years. I know when I see wedding pictures from the 80’s I wonder “what were they thinking” and I don’t want to think the same thing when I look back at my wedding pictures.
