I would ask them to make it looser.  You don’t want to be uncomfortable during your wedding!  Make sure they get on it pronto!  Often, seamstresses can work miracles, so don’t worry too much!

Ok so my dress, I had full lined sleeves on them. I kept asking them to make the sleeves tighter and tighter because I can’t stand baggy sleeves. In the end they did make them very fitted. it was harder for me to lift my arms and that is a problem with dancing. For the first half of the wedding my sleeves were below my elbow and it was hard to lift. Like tight. But then as the day wore on they loosened up a bit and by the time dancing came they kind of slipped a little over my elbow making it easier to raise my arms. I know it’s a little hard to explain. Let me attach some pictures where you can really see the sleeves and you’ll get an idea. I think the way my sleeves were was great for pictures considering that in my religion I’ve seen some brides with baggy sleeves and it honestly looks like crap.

Ok my uploader isn’t working. Let me go on a different browser and see if I can get the pix.

Ok so I can only post pix from my phone right now which means only already uploaded pix so I have no dancing pix right now but I will be back to show you how it looked during that. I’m annoyed because these aren’t the pix I wanted to show the progression of the sleeves during the day but at least you can see how mine are. They’re also a little looser in the elbow which helps – if your sleeves cover the elbow.

I remember this one pose the photographer wanted us to do and it was really hard to get my arms in the right place! But I made it through because I knew the pictures would be the lasting thing from the day and I didn’t want the sleeves to be loose! (This is a battle I’ve fought with my mom so many times over sleeves when I’ve made dresses for other occasions because she always wants them so loose!) A lot of my friends get their sleeves above their elbows so they came really make them much tighter but in my religion we’re really not supposed to show our elbows so I didn’t make them that way.

Look closely at the picture of the dress from behind. You can see on my left arm that my skin is getting a little squeezed.

Random thought:  Kate was able to wave in her dress, so hers wasn’t that tight!  Think of when they were on the balcony!

If you’re uncomfortable definitely ask them to make them looser. You don’t have to make them baggy by any means, but comfortable enough to be able to raise your arms to eat and dance.

My dress has lace straps, and I find them tight but easy to move in so I think lace is naturally a little tighter but also think if you have full sleeves it should allow for movement.

It also depends on the material and if the fabric can stretch even minimally it makes a difference. I could raise them up half way.
