Yellow Gold- It's classic and timeless

Rose Gold- It's different and nobody will have a ring like yours

If you’re digging the rose gold, go with it!  It looks so beautiful with clear stones.

Both a nice, personally i like yellow gold i always think rose gold is a bit old ladies, but still way better than white gold and will make your diamond look fab.

Only thing i dont recommend is white prong with rose gold, that will look rubbish, im a big fan of prongs to match the ring other wise it looks kinda silly, but if you dp want two tone with white prongs they look better with yellow gold.

You need to try it on your skin to make a decision.

Yellow gold looks BLECH on me, but rose looks lovely. I have white gold rings however.

@MrsOliveBird:  I agree, you really need to try both the rose gold and yellow gold on your skin, wear it around, and then decide. I have been wearing rose gold for quite some time (hah, I feel like a hipster, “I liked rose gold BEFORE it was cool!”) and what a PP said is true, that different karat rose and yellow gold look VERY different. I have a 14k rose gold e-ring, and it is very coppery pink. I love it, but I think I may have prefered the 18k because it’s warmer and more golden pink.

Go to a department store like JC Penny’s or something, and see about buying a cheap cocktail ring in yellow or rose gold (even YG/RG plated over sterling silver) and wear them around for a while. The difference is so huge, and you don’t want to regret it.

I wouldn’t suggest buying a SS plated ring to see how you like it. There is a huge color difference between solid yellow gold and a yellow gold plated ring. The plated will look almost like the brass doorknobs you see in older homes, while solid yellow will look more buttery and subdued.

Rose gold with the heart shape sounds very pretty and girly and I think it is a beautiful choice for such a romaantic cut diamond. If possible, try to go out and try on real yellow and real rose gold rings to see how they work with your skin tone.

I voted rose because it still is not super popular yet. The rose rings I’ve seen on here are stunning.
