Hi ladies. I’ve been struggling over my alterations with my gown and thought I would reach out here to hopefully get some good feedback. I found my wedding dress about a month and a half ago. The only thing that I wanted to change about mine was the neckline, I love the way a sweetheart neckline looks on me. I’m very small chested (A cup) and the sweetheart seemed more flattering. I asked the bridal salon I bought my dress at if they could change my dress into a sweetheart neckline and they said yes so I got it. Once they got it in, got it altered down to my size and I put it back on last Saturday I decided I didn’t want the sweetheart. Now I don’t know anymore! I feel so torn. I like it the way it is now but I can’t stop thinking about making it into a sweetheart 🙁 They did say that if they changed it to a sweetheart they could still keep all the lace detail along the edge. But they also made a good point that the lace is such a small part of the dress and making it a sweetheart I would lose some of the material. I know that if I decide to have them do it, there’s no turning back. They wouldn’t be able to change it back if I hated it. What do you guys think??
Also, they’ve sewn cups into my dress already which are too big for me. They didn’t have A cups at the salon so they used B cups which I dont really like, they just don’t fit right and seem to be creating a slight pointing over my boobs. I’ve ordered A cups online and they are going to switch them out next time I go in.

I think it looks lovely on you the way it is.

I feel like your girls would be falling out if you had them alter it to a sweetheart neckline. I think your dress is really flattering as it is. 🙂

I love it the way it is – so beautiful!!

Do you have a pic with a “mock” sweetheart? They can usually clip it to show you what it would look like.

I say leave it the way it is, it looks beautiful and I love the lace that hands over the edge! Wouldn’t want you to lose that effect.

Being smaller on the chest sweetheart is more flattering , I think you should have it altered x

I voted yes not because it needs it but because I always love a sweetheart neckline! I do love the detail at the top of your dress though. xx

I vote yes for the sweetheart, because it is so flattering, but only if the seamstress can find a way to reconfigure the lace so that it still hangs over the edge!

@chippybee: I do have a picture of it as a mock sweetheart but frankly it looks awful, lol. It was before the dress was altered at all so it’s too big to begin with and all they did was use a pin. I didn’t think it really showed me what it would look like that much.

@ElYunqueBride: She said she could :]

Won’t it be kind of difficult with the lace on top of the bust area? But I do agree with the sweetheart neckline rather than this straight across one.

I love the way it is and I love the way the lace hangs. I wouldn’t change it because it might not end up the way you want it to with that cute lace detail!

I think it would be much more flattering with a sweetheart neckline.

The dress seems to curve in an upside-down U shape under the bust. I feel that by changing it to a sweetheart, it’s going to look funny because it’s going to be like 2 circles kinda.. like the lace is going to look like a bandeau bikini or something. I’m not sure I’m explaining myself correctly. While I do normally like sweethearts better, I think in this case, it looks better without. Here’s my terrible attempt at what it would look like with a sweetheart:
