So I just purchased the Maggie Sottero Velma in blush pink and at the time I really loved it. (I would be making changes to the gown, however, like removing the flowers and adding a belt). But after talking to my FI he is very adamant about liking a WHITE gown and he thinks that’s what a bride should wear on her wedding day. I want him to really really love my dress and I know he will love me in anything but I think I might have made the wrong choice. PLUS I found THE GOWN that I want soooo bad…it’s the Tara Keely dress 2400 which is similar to my Velma gown but white and just perfect in every way.
This is the picture of me in the Velma gown and the link to the Tara Keely gown http://www.jlmcouture.com/Tara-Keely/Bridal/Spring/2014/Style-2400
…help!! Thoughts, opinions?

SoontobeSelwood: You seriously cannot go wrong – you look amaaaazing in the blush gown and like you say, I have no doubt your FI will love it on the day. In fact, he may not even notice it’s not actually white (men often don’t notice the little details that much when it comes down to it!).
Having said all that, the other gown you’re thinking about is also seriously stunning, and you kind of sound like you like it better. Have you tried it on? If not, I think you should. If you don’t like it as much on, then you can rule it out and stop wondering. If you do love it, you’ll have a tricky decision to make, but like I said – you seriously can’t go wrong.
You are going to be a stunning bride, no matter what. Go with your gut! Good luck!
Oh, and by the way, I totally didn’t vote as I seriously couldn’t decide. I’m actually no help at all – I just wanted to write you a post to tell you how pretty you look!

SoontobeSelwood: that’s blush pink? I don’t think he’ll even notice because it’s so close to off white :). He may just be worried it’s like pink-pink ya know? Dress is gorgeous!!

Honestly, I think the Velma looks great on you and is very, very similar to the second dress. So similar that I, personally, wouldn’t bother changing.
Assuming the photo is of the blush, I think the blush is lovely. I understand wanting to respect your FI’s concerns, but I think it’s so subtle that a lot of men (eg, my SO for sure) would consider it “white”. When he says “white” he may not be considering the rainbow of almost-but-not-quite-white shades.
The wedding is far enough out that of you really want to change, go for it. I’m sure it will look great too!

Miss_Mae: Aw thank you very much…yea it doesn’t help that I’m the most indecisive person in the world either!! I am going to try the TK dress on tomorrow, I feel like I just have to and then hopefully the decision will be easier…or wayyy harder! lol
But I appreciate your input! I’ll let you know what I decide!

JuliaLaneFitness: Yes, it’s ivory over blush technically but I think because it’s my second (and last) wedding…I just want it to be perfect, but yes I agree and thank you!!
pink.lemonade: I guess I’m worried because I showed him a blush dress (same color as my dress) and a white dress and when I asked his preference, it was a resounding WHITE!! Plus, I was 100 lbs heavier at my last wedding, didn’t get to wear the dress I really wanted because they didn’t make it in my size AND it was ivory not white. So I’d really love to finally wear that bright white…I always jump the gun and then regret it 🙁 Thank you for the compliment though!

SoontobeSelwood: Hi, I am fighting the same dilemma right now – I have tried this dress on and fell in love with it and now I’m trying to decide what colour I would order this dress in! I really LOVE the dress and I didn’t expect to like a coloured dress but honestly, from the pics it’s so hard to even tell that it has a blush undertone…did you end up deciding what dress you are going to go with?
