So, my wedding dress has been a battle of battles. I am getting married in 3.5 months and still technically don’t have one.
I know, I know.
I was always set on having my dress made because 1) I’m picky 2) I’m big and options and available styles are much more limited, especially in my price range.
Then, my grandpa offered to have his friend make it. That was a disaster to end all disasters, but that’s a story for another post.
Fast forward, and my friend (who is actually good) is making me a dress. I tried on dresses and we are going with the basic design of one of them, but with some changes made. We have purchased all the material for it, EXCEPT for a beaded lace-type fabric that was on it.
I can’t find anything remotely similar! I emailed the company to see if I could buy it separately (worth a shot) and nope.
The thing about this beaded material is the density and spacing. Other “beaded lace” looks just like that, really dense LACE-y looking lace, that is sections of lace with the spaces between them and not one continuous sheet like this is. This pretty much just looks like a swirly patterned sheet of beads that has space between the tendrils but isn’t separated into sections. I didn’t even know this was technically a lace until I read the description.
I’ve looked so many places online as well as multiple stores. I feel like I’m using the wrong search terms as well as looking in the wrong places online. I have no idea how to find something similar that could work. I feel like I see this type of fabric on wedding dresses all the time, but don’t know what to search for to find it by the yard online! It definitely looks like some kind of overlay on top of a satin shell, but beyond that…ugh.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions? I’m running out of time. I don’t need it to be the exact pattern at all, I just want it to have the same feeling, and I don’t think we have time to hand bead a bunch of lace (even if we did, I haven’t really seen lace like that before)!
Thanks you guys!!
