Do you have a budget?  It might be tough to find something in silk that is affordable and cotton suits don’t look very professional most of the time.

ITA.  Cotton wrinkles like crazy and silk is pricey.  We do need a budget to work with here.

Express has some nice stuff (and coupons), or Banana Republic. I have some BR suit pants (Martin fit) that are lightweight wool that I love.

I would choose a lightweight wool like @vorpalette:   It can be worn year round.

Unless you know what size in what brand fits you perfectly, I would however advise that you make the time to try something on after the bees have identified a few options for you. Fit is so important and no two lines fit the same.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Banana Republic’s suits.  If you have an outlet near you, go there!  You can save up to 70% depending on what’s on sale at the moments, but I have 2 suits I paid less than $100 each and they’re good quality.

Oh! And if you’re going to shop online at BR, sign up for emails first.  They send a 40% off one item email out like once a week.  I never pay full price with them.

Banana is awesome.  They have great suits.  I just got a job that requires business formal all the time and got two suits there.  I got a full suit and a shirt for about 300 bucks an it’s super comfortable!  Getting on the email like pp said is a good idea.
