Hey there hive,
I am sort of in crazy, shocked, panic mode right now. I have 5 WEEKS until my wedding and my dress still isn’t right. Sorry this is a long post, feel free to skip it and just poll! Here is the original:

See that awkward roll? I was able to reduce it a little through alterations. But this week I am going to have it steamed to see if the seams will relax enough for it to disappear entirely. However, I decided I needed a backup plan in case it doesn’t work. So I went to David’s Bridal. And I found, not one but TWO dresses that I would love to wear if mine doesn’t work. Here is the first:

Obviously, it fits much like the first one, but with more detailing. It still shows off my figure and I really love it. But there is also this one:

I really am torn. The first two fit my body sooooo well and I love my original dress. But I am not going to wear something that isn’t perfect and makes me have an ugly lump on the wedding day, just not gonna happen. The second one is beautiful, no doubt about it. But the THIRD. Holy heck! I love it so much. I never thought I would like something poufy and princessy but I love it just as much as the other two. It made me feel sooo special and bridal. I can’t decide on a sash or no sash (opinions please)…Plus, it looks good on my body and gives me a nice waist. I could see myself in any of the three.
Let me clarify/recap. If I can get my dressed fixed, I’m not getting a different dress. I hate spending more money than necessary/waste. Plus I still love my first dress. But if I must, I will get a new one. So what do you guys think? Which dress do you love? I have sooo little time before the big day, I need all the help I can get!!!
Ahhhh ๐

It sounds like you’re way more excited about the third one than the second, so if your original dress doesn’t work I’d say that one! They all look beautiful on you though. I hope you can get your first dress to just lay smoothly, that would be so much less stressful!

Well I hope your original dress gets fixed because I LOVE that one on you! It looks amazing and so beautiful! And I voted for the first of the other two options. Even though I don’t know you, I feel like it’s much more “you” (if that makes sense). I totally get being surprised by a wedding dress that you wouldn’t have expected to like, but I always feel like it’s better to go with the choice that does feel more comfortable and more like yourself. You’ll be less likely to look back on your wedding day in five years and say, “What was I thinking?” Plus, I really do love that first back-up option. It looks so beautiful on you!

I love the original on you, so fingers crossed that it works out! I’m not particular to the third one, but you seem pretty crazy about it, so if your first dress falls through, go with that one! But do NOT go with that sash, I feel like the red gives it sort of a juvenile look. You could try a subtle crystal sash, or a ribbon sash, but so that the detailing of the sash goes only to one side.

@hopefloats: in reply to your suggestion… I did try this sash, which you can see the bow of in the second picture of the dress. I wouldn’t do the red one, I just wanted to see it with my wedding color as an option… oh and the necklace, because I have a pearl necklace I am wearing.

I’m confused about the poll…Is the first option in reference to the first of the two replacement dresses?

i noticed you were in colorado. is the shop fixing your dress for you? my friend highly recommends a place in arvada called the wedding seamstress. i think i will take my dress there instead of the bridal shop in cherry creek.

@JoJo Bananas: the poll is a more general which do you prefer? dress 1, 2 or 3? Not which of the two replacements.
@profiterole: i already took it to the top seamstress in colorado springs (so i’ve heard) and now my last hope is the steaming ๐

I remember your dress problem from a while ago and am so sad for you that it hasn’t worked out. ๐ That being said, I love how happy you look in dress #3 – it’s totally different than your original dress, but I love it!

I love #3. Oh my goodness, the tulle is amazing (I am a big fan of tulle in generel). I was going to say no sash at first, but I changed my mind when I saw it with the crystal sash – it’s stunning!
I do also love your original dress, and think it looks amazing on you, so if that works out you should definitely stick with it. If not, I vote for tulle!
