Post # 1
This is my first-ever post, so forgive me if I do something wrong. 😛
My BF and I are planning to get engaged soon, and I’ve picked which setting I want, but I can’t decide between a 1.5 carat, 7.5 mm round moissanite or a 1.8 carat, 7 mm cushion moissanite.
This is the cushion (although I’m not sure how big the stone pictured is).
This is the round (although, again, not sure what size stone this is).
Please help! I can’t decide!

@Leasli: I honestly cannot see a difference between them…

@Leasli: I vote cushion! 🙂

@Leasli: round always wins for me. It’s so classic and it’s what I have:)))

hard to choose,they are both stunning beautiful,and they both look alike except one is round.
i would have to see them in person and make my desion that way,or have your have your Fiance choose and surprise you 🙂

its a tie so far,let Fiance choose,i think it will be much more special that way

@Leasli: I like how the halo is more exposed with the round, and I think round is classic.

@Leasli: I love the round! And I think you made a great choice going with MoissCo. My MoissCo ring is on its way to me now!!
The only thing I would say in caution is that I’ve read that that particular setting is very delicate and could be possibly prone to breaking.

@Leasli: Just as an FYI – the diamond seems MUCH larger in person than in the photos. my Fiance proposed with eng161 1.5ct round, and the moissy seriously looked like a beach ball. Now I’ve gotten used to the size and I absolutely love it. But 1.5 is big, 1.8 might seem hugee!!

Thanks for the input everybody!
@ceebree I hadn’t thought about that! It does look very delicate, I didn’t think about it breaking though! Thanks.
@drA The only thing is, I’ve always been told the cushion cut appears smaller than round cut. As a 7mm it’ll be more equivalent to a 1.25 carat round. I’m almost afraid that will be too small! I really like the 1.5 size range in a round.
I think I’ve figured out that I want the cushion cut, but I’m afraid because of its tendency to appear smaller it’s going to get here and I’ll want something bigger. I guess that’s what’s causing my hesitation.

@Leasli: I just got a 1.5ct equivilant round brilliant moissanite on a 5.5 finger, and I love how it looks. Big, but not too big, classic looking and I LOVE IT! i was afraid it would regret not getting the 2ct, but honestly, I think this is perfect. Not sure what size your finger is, but just for reference…
I had a hard time deciding between a round and a cushion cut as well, so I went with double prongs to accentuate the corners.. hope that helps, I think either way you’ll be happy, both are gorgeous!

@AThompsonToBee thank you!! That was very helpful. Although, I’m not sure they would be able to do double prongs because of the way the setting is made. But seeing the size reference was really great!
