I’m trying to decide between two buildings on the same property for our October 2015 wedding. We’re not officially engaged yet but we are only waiting for the ring, and have already started planning, at least choosing the venue. Anyway, the property is Lake Lyndsay, and the buildings are the Beach House and Kayla’s Korner.
I’d link them but I’m on my cell.
At the beach house, there are metal tables and chairs(they look like porch furniture), kind of shitty bathrooms, just a refrigerator and a not very nice place to get ready. But everything is mostly outside and it comes with a tent, which would be really nice.
Kayla’s Korner is mostly inside, with beautiful hardwood ceilings, a full kitchen, nice bathrooms and a bridal suite. There are normal table and chairs so I could have the covers that I want, and speakers already there. It’s $1000 more than the beach house.
There’s a gazebo with a lake at each to have the actual ceremony, because being married outside is non negotiable.
I just don’t know which one I like more, there are benefits to both….but anyone mind Google image searching the pictures and giving me your thoughts? The SO likes them both too, so he’s no help.

I looked at both. I do think tent weddings are beautiful but I love the look of the ceilings at Kayla’s Korner and you lost me with the not so nice bathrooms at the beach house. My vote is for Kayla’s Korner. I also think it would be easier to decorate since it kind of speaks for itself.

I think it really depends on the style you want, the affordablilty of the beach house could mean that you have the funds to rent proper tables amd chairs and a nice bridal suite at a hotel. the beach house also seems to have a beautiful open air quality to it so if you want to be mostly outside that seems like it would be a good choice. However, if convenience is important and the amenities are that much nicer I think Kayla’s korner would be the a better option. From the way you talk about them it seems that Kayla’s kormer is your favorite!

jillbean1217: I like Kayla’s Korner. The better bathrooms, a nice place to get ready and full kitchen is worth the extra $1,000.

As a guest, I would prefer a decent bathroom and a decent chair, so I would vote for Kayla’s Corner.
ETA: it could be very cold in October so I think the indoor venue would be better.

gelaine22: I was having the same problem with giving up a tent, but man, having somewhere nicer to get ready and saving on my decorating budget pushed me over the edge. Thanks for your help!
Rafissch: I was struggling because I just couldn’t figure it out! After taking into consideration the speakers, ceremony chairs, and tables and chairs for the Beach House, the costs sort of evened out. I hated to say goodbye to the open air feel that you described, but being able to get ready on site and have other amenities won me over!
StarryNight2011: LoveBugBee: +1 on the bathrooms. The others weren’t horrible, just reminded me of elementary school bathrooms.
Made my decision, Kayla’s Korner it is! Thanks for taking the time to give your input. 🙂
