Here is my dress:
I am wearing it without the one shouldered sash (see second image)
Because of the lack of beading / lace, I’d been thinking about getting a belt. I originally had my eyes set on this one (before I even bought the dress), but didn’t buy it in the end:
1) Original braided belt
But most of my friends / family think it’s 1) too plain / not enough sparkle 2) too grecian 3) doesn’t really go with the dress. I somewhat agreed, and so began my hunt for a new belt. I dont’ know how to wrap my head around imagining belt in photo A to a dress in photo B.
Help me choose! I am somewhat tall 5’6″ and VERY VERY skinny (as in I need to take in an inch on both sides of the size zero. A thick belt will not work for me. I tried them at the bridal stores.
2) Curly Cues
3) Nordstrom Scallop
If you have any other recommendations, feel free to post! THANK YOU!! 🙂

either of the etsy belts would love great , you really dont know until you try it on with the dress, looks great as is but you can never have to much bling i say 😛

IMO your dress doesn’t need a belt b/c the pleating is so intricate and pretty. But if I had to choose, I’d pick belt #1.

I ordered the Alex sash the same etsy seller and I LOVE it! The pictures do not do her sashes justice! I like the first one listed the best! You won’t be disappointed!!

I really like your dress, however I think the shape and direction of the pleating does not require a sash because it would cut right through the parallel lines (I’m an engineer, bare with me).
Have you considered having a different strap added? Something that would be parallel to the pleats (i.e. on the model’s right shoulder) but has enough bling/sparkle. Maybe like this one
OR, maybe you can contact the seller of your favorite sash and have them make it into a strap. But if you have your heart set on wearing a sash then I’d pick the first one. It’s stunning.

I agree with the engineer, I love the pleats and a sash/belt would disrupt the lines of the dress.

The first belt is lovely. I admire Kristen’s designs as well. Check out my Etsy shop for more unique designs: [links removed for self-promotion]
Happy wedding planning!

I voted for the first belt. When just looking at your dress, I wanted to tell you not to put any sort of belt on it! It has such a unique design! But then I read how you mention your shape, how very slender you are. It may help to define your waist a little. I think the first one with its LACK of curly cues goes with the dress best, instead of competing with the epic diagonal lines on your dress.
