From what you have written, it would seem that you want to go with option #1. They would be less expensive for you, but you haven’t done a tasting.

The second option doesn’t seem like it offers what you want. You didn’t like the food and it is more expensive.

My fiance and I are paying for everything ourself and when we choose our caterer, the cost, tasting, and how we get along will be number one.

I agree, go with the co-opp, it seems like they will fit your needs (and budget) a little bit better. Just make sure you have everything in writing and taste all the food before signing the contract. 🙂

From your post alone, it sounds like you have already picked Option 1!  Go for it – you got along great, shes not pressuring you and you LOVED the food she served.

Honestly, I have only been to one vegetarian wedding, and was not a fan, but the reason why is that they only had finger foods, nothing substantial.  It sounds like you guys would have lots of food, so as a meat eating person, I would be fine with that.  I don’t feel the need to eat meat at EVERY meal.

In regards to caterers, I would go with number one.  Sounds like you love their food, they get your wedding vision, and they will be the most cost-effective option.  Looks like a win-win all around!

I vote for #1 being the the best option! You really clicked with the woman, the price is right & you LOVE the food from the Cafe… what more could you ask for!? When you said option #2’s food was “whatever” and nothing really stood out besides pie & ravioli they lost my vote! Also all the mights and maybes w/ the second caterer makes me uncomfortable. You don’t want unexpected charges to pop up!

    Definitely go with #1!

I think that your relationship with a vendor is one of the most important things. Add to that that you’ve found a vendor that makes great food, is enthusiastic and knowledgeable and can work within your budget and I have to say, I have a bit of vendor envy. I’m voting for the co-op caterer!

Have you read any reviews about their catering? You should check online, or see if they will give you some references. That might help you with your decision, and it’s good to make sure the caterer is reliable – especially with the food co-op, since catering a large, outside event is very different than running a cafe.

I voted for the first one. Not only did you seem more excited about the first one, but it sounded like a pretty amazing deal to me! And for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t mind a vegetarian reception at all. I think as long as you have a variety of “safe” choices you should be fine!
