- Wedding: June 2013
I need to choose and order my dress for my qwedding asap (this week actually). So I went shopping Saturday (for the last time…) to Alfred Angelo and Davids Bridal (I have been to about 7+ bridal salons so far and tried on 20+ dresses…so I am well versed in dresses).
DISCLAIMER…the pics of me may be bad….some I was not paying attention and are mid-talking/movement shots.lol
LOOK 1 – THE FANTASY PRINCESS LOOK
Alfred Angelo Cinderella 205
HAha this is not the look I was going for….I was going for a trumpet/mermaid, but I must admit it looks good!
LOOK 2: THE DRAMATIC DIVA
Davids Bridal Vera Wang Georgette VW351136
Very Dramatic, the sample size fit just needs a nip under the butt to make it fit better (this is why I love Davids Bridal! They have sample saizes in my size!!).
Let me just say the dress is the weight of a 10 year old child….no joke!
LOOK 3: THE REGAL QUEEN
David’s Bridal Melissa Sweet MS251005
I Love the back of this dress (the buttons do all the way up, just imagin it that way). I was hoping this dress could have had a full illusion front and back (I am not the biggest fan of the v-neck….other then that I love it all).
This dress usually falls a little flatter, I just added a trumpet crinoline petti coat to make it more dramatic at the bottom and I will take the dress in very tight to below the hip (shown clipped back above).
LOOK 4: TOTAL CUSTOM DRESS
Designed by Jeffrey MacKinnon and Myself
I have the opportunity to get a dress made. The only thing is I don’t know what this style looks like on me, as I have never seen a similar dress available to try on.
I of course don’t have a pic of the dress, but I will show some inspiration…
So yes I love the sleeves amd the lace illusion on the back AND the front. I would open the neck line to be more of a modified boat neck.
I would also have a more dramatic trumpet shape with crinoline (think the shape of LOOK 3 – melissa sweet).
Here is the cool part about the custom dress…..I want the lace to be removable (like a jacket that unbuttons in the back) and I have a whole wearable dress underneath. Here is a sketch from the designer of the “under”dress.
The lace “over” dress would have all the crinoline and the under dress will be more of a subtle trumpet in 4-thread silk (very soft)…so when I take off the lace the bigness comes off (the trumpet crinoline and I get this! – price varies on the type of material I PICK
