So it’s a long story, but at this point I’m really just looking for opinions on which shape you think is more flattering. Neither of these are the final dresses I’m looking at, but they are very similar in shape. (I don’t have great pics of the finalists, but will post when I can get some better pictures!)
Thanks in advance Bees!

@calisunshine3404: They both look great, but there’s something about the 2nd dress that makes me think it suits you better. What is the dress? It’s lovely.

@lovelee1: Thank you! I think my biggest concern with the shape of the first one is that I have narrow hips and I’m concerned that it makes me look a bit boxy… I’m not sure what exact dress the second one is, but I’m pretty sure it’s Essense of Australia. Sorry I don’t have more info! 🙁
ETA: I tried looking for it on their website but couldn’t find it, but I am going to go back to that shop in the next couple of weeks so I’ll look when I go and get back to you!

#2 is gorgeous! I love the lace on the bottom!

@calisunshine3404: They are so very similar, i could see why you would have difficulty picking one. I would go with dress #2 especially if you plan on doing a sash/belt. If not #1 has a sash that I think is the most flattering feature.
I think #2 with out a belt/sash does not define your waist as well as, #1 does because it has a sash.. BUT I think #2 with a sash/belt would be the best choice. I know you were looking at just shape, but a sash/belt plays a huge role in the way a dress’s shape is percieved.

@calisunshine3404: Love dress one! Slim a line is my fav!! I do absolutely love the bottom of the skirt on Dress 2 though!! the detail is amazing!

@SparkleBee11: Very good point! The dress that I’m looking at that is similar to the second dress does have a sash, and it does make a big difference, especially when the waist needs some definition like mine! Thanks for your help! 🙂

We have the same body type sweetie! You look gorgeous in both of them! #1 is my favourite though, but I think it would be more flattering if you had a petticoat or hoop underneath to give it a little bit of volume at the bottom. I have narrow hips and not much of a waist so I found adding a little bit to the bottom helped give me a shape. The first one gives you a longer torso as well

@happyheidi1984: Oh so you feel my pain on the fit-and-flare and mermaid dresses then! I love the way they look but it’s soooo hard to find one that is flattering on me! I agree that adding to the bottom is a good idea to help give more shape! Thanks so much! 🙂

Definitely dress 2, but i’d add a belt!

They’re both A-line, so the shape of the dress is the same. The only difference is the neckline. I always lean towards sweetheart necklines because I think they’re flattering on everyone.

@calisunshine3404: I didn’t vote because I prefer the slimmer A line of the first dress but the sweetheart neckline of the second dress.

The are both beautiful but I chose #2.

#2 and I would add a thin sparkly belt!

They are both gorgeous! I like the second one better because it gives you waist a little bit more definition… it would probably be even better with a belt or sash of some sort!
