I’ve never had grits but I love shrimp so I voted for that one.

Are grits similar to polenta?  Because if yes, then that sounds delicious!

If you don’t have many vegetarian options, Id go for the risotto but the shrimp and grits sound better!

I honestly have no idea how either of these would taste, lol. But they both sound good to me! Much more interesting than mac and cheese, though its one of my favorite comfort foods 🙂

I should warn you about the risotto. One of the things we tasted for our reception was risotto in a martini glass and unless it is served and eaten right away, the risotto coagulates very quickly and it turns into a stiff mass that lacks the creaminess that freshly served risotto has. So with this in mind, unless you are plating to order, it’ll be tough to execute well. I’ve been to parties where this has been plated to order, but it takes quite some time per person so a line does form. I haven’t had extensive experience with grits, but I’ll assume it’s easier to manage during the cooling process as compared to risotto.

To be completely honest I am not a fan of either of these options. Rissoto is so tempermental and I dont eat any seafood. As some “food” for thought what about a mash potato bar? I went to a wedding party for new brides and they had one, WOW what a hit. You had every kind of topping and it was customized and so good. Also on the plus side the cost would be a saver compared to the risotto or shrimp….just putting it out there
