I could really use some advice on theme for my wedding. When Fiance and I first decided on a destination I initially thought that a pastel theme would be perfect. We are getting married at Lake Tekapo (NZ) which in the summer is covered with lupins:
I will be having four bridesmaids and was thinking of having them wear pastel pink, blue, lilac and yellow to match the lupins.
Now that I am thinking of decor for the reception I am wondering if multiple pastel colours is going to look a bit busy? Any advice on how I could pull it off?
Since I started becoming unsure of the pastel theme I was searching colour themes on google and quite liked grey and pink but maybe grey is a bit boring for a summer wedding?
I am the worst at making decisions so please help!

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the pastels. My suggestion would be to pick your favourite colour of the pastels, (I’m guessing that’s pink?) and have that be the prominant colour throughout.. so maybe mostly pink flowers, mostly pink decor, with a mixing of the other pastels. It would look really amazing.
I think Mrs. Jackrabbit’s bunting is a good example of how lots of colours can work!

@Janelle123: If you substitute blue for the pink dress, I think it will be lovely. By not using a pink dress, you leave that option for flowers

I would say pick one color for the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress. Not alot of people look good in yellow. Then do pastels in your flowers. You can also do the same, pick one main color and an accent color. If you like pink do pink and gray (for linens and napkins, but you can keep the pastel theme with your flowers on the table. Or if you are creative, you can do all pastels but try not to make it too busy.
