I’m having a hard time deciding what kind of veil to go with my dress. I am getting married in a Catholic church this June in Minnesota, and my dress has a long (but detachable) embroidered and lace train on the back. (Pictures below). I’ve always wanted a long Chapel or Cathedral veil, but I don’t want to take away from the train. What should I do?!?

Also, what are your thoughts on a two-tier veil in front of my face when I’m walking down the aisle? I can’t decide if it will be “too much” but I like the idea of the tradition…

Go with either a plain veil or try to find one that has lace that matches your dress around the edge. The veil in front of the face, also called a blusher, is personal preference. I am wearing one because that was my one request from my groom. He said he always imagined me walking down the aisle with one

@kristinfolk: The train on your dress is stunning, it would be a shame to cover it up! I love the lace edged veil idea, at a shorter length it should blend/compliment your dress rather than cover it up/change the focal point. 🙂

@kristinfolk: I would go with a lace trimmed fingertip length veil….no way would I cover up that stunning train!
Maybe something like this

If you did do a long veil, it has to be plain tulle. I like the one @weddingbound:
