    yes, if you have 3 choices there should be a fish(or lobster) a meat either steak or pork and a chicken dish.

    i picked the 3 that i would eat…ham, fried chicken and the sirloin. i don’t think you HAVE to have a fish…but i think it would be nice to have it…

    MMMM they sound tasty and are making me hungry!  I like the many southern-y options.  Perfect for a NC wedding!

    I was thinking do one of the beefs, a chicken/ham or pork, and then a fish. 

    Also you may want to have a vegetarian option if you know of any vegetarians coming to the wedding.  But usually venues have some kind of veggie option that they can make for guests.  I would just check into that.  🙂

    I really love flounder so I think that’d be a good fish. As far as the fried chicken goes – why don’t you tell his family that fried chicken doesn’t really go with your wedding, but you’d love to do it for the rehearsal dinner?

    I like the fried chicken at the rehearsal dinner idea. It just doesn’t seem right at the reception – even if it is casual.

    And, no love for the burgundy? That’s one of my favorites! I also think the catfish sounds tasty. Sigh. I’m hungry now!

    I like the Champagne chicken because it’s different from standard chicken fare (Herbed Chicken). My husband picked out a chicken prep that he liked better than the others. I like the beef sirloin because I love eating red meat at weddings. For fish, I would go with a basic whitefish which is simple and could appeal to a lot of people.

    I didn’t pick anything fried because it doesn’t hold well and often is soggy when served to large groups. I didn’t pick any pork/ham, even though they look best to me, because lots of people have pork restrictions. But if I had to choose between the two, I would pick ham. If I went to a restaruant, of all the things listed, I think I’d pick the Pork, but it dries out very easily, and hard to do right.
