I neeeed your help! I want some opinions please and you know you ladies got ’em! I’ve basically narrowed down my photography choices to 2 people and I want to here who you think we should go with.
#One
The package we would go with includes:
1 Photographer + Assistant10 hours of coverageDisc of High Res photos with print release30 page albumEngagement sessionOnline proofing and GalleryPhotobooth
#Two
2 Photographers8 Hours of CoverageDisc of High Res Images with print releaseEngagement Session
I’m not going to share who I’m leaning towards until I’ve heard from you ladies. I will say I have spoken to both photographers and my date is available with both so it is purely a matter of style and what is offered from both.
ETA: They are the same price.

I would go with #1 … if they are the same price, you get more bang for your buck! #2 seems more photojournalistic though, if that’s what you really want (which I personally love!).

I need to know prices before I could give you an opinion, BUT if they are the same price, or close in price … #1 is the best because it offers you more.

@elysion: I do like the photojournalistic style as well. He worked at a newspaper for 7 years so it comes from that.

I guess it would depend on how important the album were to you. To me, I would pick the first because of the photobooth, the album wouldn’t really matter to me cuz I could make my own. But the photobooth would sway me. It would also depend on the price between the two, for me. But I’m assuming that is already being considered, so my vote is for #1

I like option 2. I just don’t really like the feel of the photographs from number one but I love number two’s photograph!

@MrsSl82be: The album is something I care greatly for but I would be willing to skip it now if I could get amazing photographs for the wedding. I can always purchase the album afterwards.

@paigers91: They do have very beautiful photographs. What is it about number one that you dislike?

i think they both look great. Although, even though they are the same price, I would not just pick the first one because you get more stuff. I would pick the one you are leaning towards – there has to be a reason (something you like about their photos more, you jived well with them in person….). The stuff you get extra in #1 – photobooth, 2 hours, + album – are not really important IMO. Like MrsSl82be said, you could do a nice album anywhere (and probably include more pic if you DIY).
Also, i would think that 2 photographers is better than 1 photographer & 1 assistant.

@dynamic_duo: I do worry about the one photographer for sure. If we wanted to add another photographer it is possible but photog #1 said he felt confidant in doing it alone.

I prefer #2. #1 just doesnt seem to capture the corect exact moments to me, and I dont really like the lighting in #1’s photos. #2 I think takes really beautiful photos.

@MsBrooklynA: i think one photographer is good too. I just thought that was the only true advantage between the two packages. I don’t think photobooths are a big deal, albums can be done anywhere, and 8 hours is plenty. So in terms of “bang for your buck”, i thought the second package was better. But if you are leaning towards #1, then i also think one photographer plus assistant will be awesome too. (that’s what i had and the only thing that went wrong was i didn’t budget enough time for bridal party photos – which you are not going to do!)

@dynamic_duo: I will say I am worried about the 8 hours and it is part of why I lean towards #1. We don’t have venue constrictions so we are having a fairly lengthy reception and I worry I will feel like I am rushing through the reception purely so the photographer can capture the moments but if I’m rushing are those the “real” moments?
