#1:A local wineryhttp://www.noveltyhilljanuik.com/weddings/summer-w
Pros: -close to home and convenient for my guests and myself -reputation for having great food -Would not have to rent anything (tables, chairs, white linens, napkins, dishes, silverware, glassware all included) -nice courtyard to have ceremony with bocce ball, cornhole, and outside fireplace -day of coordinator included -less stressful to plan because of so many things included and it being close to home
Cons: -no views and surrounded by a parking lot -no vineyards or beautiful grounds -Contemporary look of all concrete and glass, which while nice is not the look that I wanted for my wedding. I envisioned more of a garden/rustic setting -winery is set in a suburban town, nothing special about it
Option #2 Out of town winery
Pros: This is basically my dream venue and what I always pictured for my wedding -located in Washington wine country; is a destination for wine tasting -huge beautiful estate surrounding by vineyards that you get to stay in for the whole weekend, the house sleeps 20, has an amazing pool area in the back, a downstairs with a dance floor, full bar, pool table, and movie theater -stunning views as it is set atop a hill -can hold the rehearsal dinner there the night before the wedding -fits the rustic idea I had for my wedding -is more like a retreat/wedding weekend than just one night -very unique experience for the guests
cons: -about a five hour drive from where we live; may be more inconvenient for family and friends -will be very hot, in the 90s at the time we will be having the wedding -have to rent out a lot of things such as tables, chairs, linens, etc. -have to hire a day of coordinator -might be harder to find vendors because it is a small town and more stressful to plan being from out of town -will have to pay for my photographer to travel because he is already booked and is based out of where we live -less people might come because it is an out of town wedding
Thanks for your help and any opinions!
