Ok guys, I need help picking my venue! I’m going to list both options below with pics and pros and cons for each underneath. Please vote on the poll for either and comment if you’d like about why you’d chose the one you voted for… Thanks in advance for al the help, I’m such an indecisive bride, and both venues are so nice and different! Thanks and I hope you have fun!
Option A: Caribe Hilton
Cocktail hour in front of beach & fort.
Followed by reception in this ballroom whose windows look out to that view and at night fort will be illuminated possibly in a color from wedding.
Pros: 1. That view! 2. Very good, creative food. 3. Place for out of towners to stay-would only need to shuttle to ceremony and back. 4. Includes suite for bride & groom-rooms and bars to hang out after reception ends.
Cons: 1. Possibly more expensive-we can either buy the alcohol from them which is expensive and have it deducted from consumption minimum (leaving less $ for better food) or we can bring in our own alcohol we buy outside for less, but that amount wouldn’t be included in consumption minimum making alcohol an added expense on top of the minimum we have to spend to use the room). 2. Less private as its in a hotel vs private venue. 3. Less creative food-but still very yummy.
Option B: San Juan Museum of Art
Cocktail hour in this beautiful sculpture garden.
Followed by reception in this grand atrium.
Pros: 1. Food by renowned chef-he’s even been on Iron Chef, creative latin-fusion menu. 2. Lower cost due to venue charging basic bar setup fee instead of charging for each bottle you bring & open-costs the same to bring in Grey Goose as Smirnoff for example (about 3k less). 3. Room is blank slate can be decorated however.
Cons: 1. About 1 mile away from hotel and 5 from ceremony-more expensive shuttle to provide for out of towners. 2. Room feels colder because of museum setting-sound not as good due to echo (but really not bad). 3. No place walking distance or in same location if guests want to continue partying after reception is over (1am).
