So I’m in the process of ordering our wedding cake and have some options. What did you all do for your cake? What are some recommendations you have? What is the best cake you’ve ever had at a wedding you’ve attended?
P.S. Feel free to post pictures of your cakes too!

I hate raspberry in cake, so I would pick vanilax3 or chocolate x3 lol.

Chocolate and raspberry are my all time fave!

I voted vanilla with raspberry and cream cheese bc I love cream cheese frosting (we are having it on our cake too) and I prefer vanilla to chocolate.

I hate cream cheese so I’d like the all chocolate or plain vanilla

I think vanilla is a better cake to go with, because it’s a more subtle flavor than chocolate. I know a lot of people who absolutely hate chocolate cake. But I think vanilla with a nice fruit spread, and maybe a whipped frosting instead of cream cheese? Trying to think of more universally enjoyed cakes. Although to me, every single option you posted sounds amazing and I want to eat them all hahaha

We just booked our cake this past weekend. We’re having a 3 tier round cake with 3 different flavors.
Big bottom layer: BANANA AND CARAMEL CREAM. Literally, I was shocked they offered banana cake, until I tried it. It was, honestly so good. Not like banana bread at all. Still very fluffy and light. It’s also very different
middle layer: red velvet with traditional cream cheese frosting
Top layer: funfetti cake with a lemon curd/ mousse filling
we wanted everyone to have a choice!

How awesome! Wish we could have thought of this for our wedding. Great idea! Was your cake big enough to cut up into multiple pieces or did they do sheet cake in the back for each of the flavors?

If you’re only going with one I’d probably go with plain vanilla. Although I did vote for the chocolate one. Not everyone likes chocolate or cream cheese. I’m one of those people who hates cream cheese.

it should be enough on its own! We should have around 140-150 at our wedding, and the cake was made to feed 150! It would be awkward if certain flavors ran out and we had a bunch leftover of a certain kind. But…if it’s banana, the hubs and I wouldn’t mind taking that home haha.

Choc raspberry or vanilla raspberry! Love cream cheese.

We had rum cake with vanilla buttercream icing and white chocolate buttercream filling. We had ordered a half sheet extra on purpose, but our guests inhaled it. Some people at 4+ pieces. Luckily our caterer saved a few pieces for us to take back to the hotel, which we ate for breakfast. It was delicious (we had not had a tasting beforehand).

we had lemon cake with huckleberry filling and vanilla frosting. It was everything.

We had a 3-tier cake and each tier was a different flavor. The bottom was vanilla cake with strawberry filling and almond buttercream icing. The middle was chocolate cake with a cream cheese/peanut butter filling and buttercream icing. The top was lemon cake with raspberry filling and the same almond buttercream as the bottom tier.
It was all SO GOOD.
We also had a grooms cake that was coconut key lime cake and it had coconut cream cheese icing and toasted coconut on the outside. It was awesome too.

Our cake was strawberry with buttercream frosting. We also had various pies as dessert options for those not interested in strawberry. This was our dessert table:
