I tried a lot of dresses but it seems like I can’t find the right one! I imagined I would wear something more pricness shaped, maybe with tulle but when I tried those dresses they didn’t seem right…
Please tell me what do you whink, should I get one of these dresses or should I keep on looking. Also, what shape do you think fits me the best?
I have a favorite but won’t tell so I won’t influence you 🙂
Here they are:
One shoulder dress:
Tulle princess dress:
Simple mermaid dress:
Fancy mermaid dress:
Thank you everyone!!

I like the first two the best, I think the first dress would be my favourite with two straps 🙂

I like the one-shoulder dress the best out of the three, but I think there is probably another one out that that suits you even better than any of these!

I love the second dress and the one shoulder dress equally.

I love the first one on you (one shoulder dress)! The silhouette is beautiful on you and it has something “extra” with the sheer single strap. It looks so elegant! Definitely #1!!!

@ananas: Really, they all look gorgeous on you! You can wear whatever you want! Pick the one that’s your favorite then!!!! 🙂

@ananas: I really like the mermaid dresses on you however their neckline doesn’t do anything for you. You look really good in sweathart top so try to find a mermaid or fit-and-flare with a sweetheart neckline 🙂

@Lulume: I acttualy agree with you… I like how this mermaid dresses look on me but don’t like the upper part, it shows my armpit fat and I don’t feel comportable in them becuase of that.
But I feel better in them then in the first one becuase they make me a great waist… the problem is I tried a lot of dresses already (these are only a few) and can’t find the one that would have everything like sweatheart nekline and a great body…

I think there are issues with every dress, but alterations and tweaking could fix them. The first dress is pretty, but the waist band is sitting quite strangely. It’s kind of warped and not pulling you in as much as it should. I don’t like the tulle dress with the basque waist on you at all, it’s not doing justice to your shape. I do think the two mermaid dresses could work, but with the neckline modified to a sweetheart. You could also add a sash to the plain one to add interest and create a teenier waist.

The first one looks best on you

#1 – emphasises the waist in a nice way, is a flattering silhouette on you. The subtle sweetheart neckline is flattering on you and the one-shoulder thing is a nice subtle detail. Classy all round. My pick.
#2 – the neckline looks lovely on you and the dress is very pretty, but the silhouette does you no favours. I think it’s mainly the drop waist that is the problem, and perhaps the heavy bodice fabric. Whatever it is, it is making you look bulky.
#3 – Has the same problem that #2 has with adding bulk to your mid-section. In this case it’s the horizontal ruching that’s doing it. The straight neckline is also making your shoulders look blocky.
#4 – In theory, the diagonal ruching should work for you in the way the horizontal ruching of dress #3 doesn’t. But it doesn’t work – it ends up looking like you’ve got a giant silk/satin sash on. I want to like this, since the details are exquisite, but there seems to be a little too much going on and the elements seem to be detracting from each other. Again, the straight neckline is not helping.
So, I voted for #1 but I think you should keep lookng, since I think you are not keen on that dress. I think you should look for more natural waist ballgowns, a-line ballgowns or a-lines. If you go for mermaids/fit and flares, go for ones with diagonal ruching. I think you look better in dresses with more structure to them, as well. And look for different necklines – one-shoulder, sweetheart and v-neck would all work for you – straight is to be avoided!

I love the silhouette, natural waist, and classic elegance of the first dress. The one-shoulder tulle design gives it a more modern twist, and I think it’s gorgeous.

I like the last one best.

@ananas: in that case I would pick nr3 and haswathe neckline changed to sweetheart if they can do that. My dress had the option of changing it to sweetheart and so I did paying extra $75
