Help! We can’t decide on a ring. He says the Legacy reminds him of a class ring and now I’m having second thoughts! Then he waivered and said that maybe it was just the picture of it. We have the legacy on layaway at MoissyCo but this morning I got on their website and saw my second favorite, the petite halo is on sale! So, should I switch to the petite halo? Help!
The petite halo:

Which ring compliments your style more? I see the Legacy as a bit bolder and the halo as more of a dainty ring.
I’m biased to the halo because that’s the type of band that I have (without a halo). My personal daily style tends to be more understated but still sparkly.

I fell in love with the halo but only reason I didn’t get it to begin with was from reading how they can be really delicate and I didn’t want to have to “baby” a ring. The legacy seemed more substantial & doesn’t have prongs popping up everywhere for catch stuff on. I wish I could wear one for a week each to see what’s more practical for me.

My ring is very delicate. It’s a 1.25 center stone set on a cathedral pave band. The band is very thin and the center stone is very high set and the prongs are exposed. There is no halo either.
To me, the size of the center stone in addition to all the sparkle make it feel much more substainal. What size is your center moissy?
I did worry initally about catching it on stuff but it really hasn’t been an issue yet and I’ve had it about 6 months or so.
Maybe you can’t test drive them for a week but you can go to a jewelry store and try some on. You and Fiance can just tell the sales associate that you are considering your options but have no intention on buying anything so that they don’t pressure you into a sale. Try on styles similar to the ones you’re looking at and see what looks best on your finger.

The size of the legacy is a 1 ct center. The size of the halo is a 1.8 ct center (that specific size is on sale, I wouldn’t choose something that large.. so I’m a little hesitant for that as well.)

I like the petite halo better – but that’s because it looks daintier and that’s my style. I have a very petite band with a halo as well. It truly depends on what your style is. Also you might take into consideration what kind of wedding band you want…will it be more slender like the petite halo or have more weight like the Legacy…decisions, decisions!

It’s interesting. I’m usually all for the petite stuff, but from the photos I prefer the legacy for the smoother more elegant finish. I myself have a cathedral-esque setting I thought was going to get caught on everything, but it hasn’t been much of an issue. I like the lack of prongs on the legacy and the overall look. It’s a beautiful ring with the paved diamonds around it! But go with your gut!

I totally agree that the legacy looks like a class ring. the petite halo is so delicate and the center stone stands out more IMO

I personally love the halo more, but I do not think the legacy will look like a class ring at all. If the legacy is what you like best, go for it!
Have you searched on the BTD forums for real photos? I know I’ve seen both those rings posted, and they always look so different in the real-life photos (usually way prettier).
I was considering the halo myself until I read a BTD thread about a lady who repeatedly lost sidestones. So maybe that’s a reason to go with the Legacy?

They are both lovely, but I like the petite halo the best. I’m not crazy about a halo with a lot of metal showing.

I like the sleek look of the legacy over the petite. Also, the legacy is more durable.

I like the halo because it seems more dainty on the finger.

I prefer the more dainty look of the halo.

I agree with your Fiance, the Legacy looks like a class ring. I love the second ring! 🙂 Good luck! Let us know what you choose!
