Same as pps, the solitaire as I don’t reallly like haloes at all – and actually prefer plain  bands to pavé ones too, fwiw.

I’m also biased, as I have a ring similar to your second choice, but I haven’t seen many halos that don’t look gaudy, and I’m someone that loves a lot of sparkle and am definitely not understated in my clothes and accessories. but I think especially with a princess cut ring having such defined corners, it’s a shame that the halo makes it look rounded and it’s that unusual outter shape one notices first.

Also, your 2 carrot solitaire will have more coverage than mine (mines only 1 carrot but i have teeny tiny hands), so it would look amazing.

Another vote for solitaire. For one, a big stone with that halo might be bordering on gaudy, and you said you’d like to avoid that.

Somwthinf else to consider— a princess cut is unique because of those pointed corners… why make a gorgeous princess cut stone look like a cushion cut by adding that halo? Not worth it!
