which dress do you prefer?
Bit of background, we’re having a church ceremony followed by a reception in a funky marquee (one of the big tops with blue and white stripes) right by the sea. We’ll be taking photos at the beach and the whole reception will be really laid back and just good fun. I’m very tall (5″11), have a shoulder length blonde bob and tattoos on my arms and back. I fell in love with Vera’s dresses because they work so well with the tattoos and just don’t look like your standard wedding dress.
Right, here’s my two choices:
Or Harlow (in ivory):
Now I know they’re both quite different. Diana is very different, quite the signature VW gown and I’ve tried her on and LOVED her! Harlow I haven’t been able to try on but I know she’s a lot more classic in the front whilst being quirky and a bit different in the back.
What do you bees think??? Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

@cornwallbee2015: I like both of them equally(ha! I’m of no help!) but If you’ve tried on and loved the Diana, I’d go for that one!

Diana bit only barely , Harlow has a gorgeous back!

Both of these gowns are gorgeous. However, if you haven’t yet tried on the Harlow, I would be concerned about ordering it without seeing yourself in it first. You definitely have the height to carry a high-fashion garment such as that. However, there is SO MUCH fabric contained within that heavily gathered waist that you may decide that you find the Diana to be a better fit for you in terms of showcasing your figure. If you try it on, and that is not a concern for you, then I agree that the Harlow would be a spectacular choice.

Diana.. at first, I liked the harlow.. but the back of it looks strange to me.

@Brielle: unfortunately I won’t get a chance to try on Harlow before buying her. I live in the uk and would have to purchase the dress from the states. I have tried on similar ball gowns (would everyone agree that Harlow is more of a ball gown?) and liked the shape on me, it made my waist look teeny tiny!
@jenilynevette: I am obsessed with harlow’a back! The front is a bit plain for me. I’m worried that the back detail might not be all that visible though and then I’d feel like the whole dress wouldn’t really be worth the investment.
are there any Harlow brides on here? did you get many comments on the back detail or did it almost go unnoticed?
Thanks for everyone’s votes so far… I’m afraid I’m still no wiser! I know they’re both spectacular dresses but how do I pick one?

I love going for unique. I love a dress that is very uncommon and not look like a thousand other brides. So the 2nd one!

@cornwallbee2015: I think the Diana is gorgeous and would vote for that.

I love that they are both unique but the back of the Harlow reminds me of when someone walks out of a bathroom with toilet paper stuck in their pants. LOL… I’m sure it would look totally different in Ivory though, but in my opinion it just pops out.
BUT… I love the first one and it is very pretty too!

Harlow, it’s incredibly elegant and classic yet modern at the same time. I feel the Diana is overdone, that flange fabric detail of the skirt. But I echo what’s already been said – you would need to be very sure that the Harlow suits you, as in reality there is a lot of fabric in the skirt and midsection.

I hate that weird tulle spiral thing a lot of VW dresses have.
I prefer the Harlow.
