As many of you already know, I’m working with DK on my dream e-ring. The diamond is on it’s way to him so I assume there’s still time to change the melee in the halo if I want to. I started out with a super dainty Tacori halo as my inspiration but when I receieved the plastic model a few days ago I realized the finger coverage wasn’t what I was hoping for. The more I’m on this site the blingier my style seems to get haha or it’s simply that I get to know more what I like.
The model is for a 1.5 ct diamond and 1.15 mm melee stones in the halo. The question is how much bigger I should go? I don’t want to regret not going bigger because I plan on this being my forever e-ring. David and I decided on 1.25mm but now I think maybe that’s not big enough for my desired look. I’m thinking somewhere between 1.3-1.5mm. Thoughts please and if you’ve got a halo with similar specs, please post!
This is my model
This is my inspiration. I love the finger coverage! Here is 2.22 ct with 1.3mm melee.

I like the Tacori Dantela mirco halo so I’m basically no help here.

That was my original inspiration but I would want a little more finger coverage. If I could get a 2-3 ct stone then I would love a super dainty halo but my stone is 1.5ct..
I just love the look when almost the entire finger is covered hehe.

I like the 2 point melee actually.

I like the 1.3, but I prefer dainty halos

With a 1.5 carat stone, I prefer the thicker halo. If it was a smaller stone I’d prefer the more dainty halo. It’s all about balance for me…

Idk if just changing the melee size is going to truly make you happy! It looks like you prefer the look of a very large center stone with a more dainty halo (similar to Tacori Dantela which I love btw) and the finger coverage that comes with that look. Having bigger melee stones is going to change your desired look but give you the finger coverage you want. Personally I like it the way it looks now.

My wife’s ring has a halo. I think they are 3 pointers. It is a more substantial halo but I love the look. Her center diamond is only .75 though so something to consider when looking at the image. I think a bigger halo will definitely look great with a 1.5 carat stone and give you the coverage you want.

It’s beautiful! Thanks for posting it.
Every image helps for comparison.

Yes, if it was in my budget I would get a bigger center. It’s about finding that balance of having the right size that accentuates my center and gives good finger coverage but doesn’t take over. It’s really difficult to figure out..
