Hello! First post here and created my account to specifically get some opinions, but after browsing the boards I think I may stick around π Hubby and I got married November 13th 2014, we have temp rings right now and are currently shopping for our permanent rings. I know I want morganite with a rose gold setting but I am completely lost on whether to go with a round or oval cut. These are the two sets I am debating between, they are virtually the same ring besides the cut.
Option #1

Option #2

Here is a picture with my old engagement ring for finger reference

Thanks for any opinions!!!

I agree with PPs that if I haaaad to choose one, it’d be the oval. It just looks so elegant.

gillykat824: Thank you, I’m thinking the oval may elongate and slenderize my fingers a bit more

kelsie.mefford: That’s what I was thinking! Haha! I wasn’t sure how to say it. I think the round one just looks chunkier? if that makes sense? And the oval would just stretch out your fingers (which don’t look short at all). I think the balance would be better with the oval.

Get one bag of regular M&Ms and one bag of peanut M&Ms and put the M&Ms on your finger to see what shape you like best.
This isn’t a thing, but I kinda want M&Ms right now and actually figured it might work.

TheGridMonster: Lol hey that might actually work! I was also thinking of going to our walmart down the street and seeing if I can find something comparable in their fashion jewelery to see if I like it. Otherwise I may go to a jeweler within the next week and have them put the stones on my fingers and see what speaks to me. When I look at my finger I instantly think the oval will look better but I have a cushion set on my finger now that I quite like, it would be almost comparable to round cut I think. Ugh why do these decisions have to be so difficult lol

For some reason there is something so elegant about an oval morganite. In general I’m more a fan of round stones, but with morganite the ovals always speak to me more. Lovely ring!

Usually I’d be team oval but the round looks so smooth and so perfect.
