I’m trying to decide how to place the flowers on my cake. I found a few examples of what I’m thinking about on Cake Central. I really want to wow my guests with the most amazing sugar flowers they’ve ever seen! Which style do you all think is the most appealing?
A) Cascade down one side of cake
B) Small Cascades in random places
C) Flowers on top of each layer
D) Spiral Cascade all the way around the cake

I vote for the spiralling around the cake, as that’s one I’ve never seen before!

I love the one with the flowers cascading down the side and the one with them spiralling around the cake. They both would look amazing but I voted for spiralling because I have never seen that before either.

I voted for the Spiral Cascade all the way around the cake because I think that you will get more of that “Wow” factor that you are looking for with that option. I haven’t seen that either 🙂

Yeah, I could only find that one picture of the spiral cascade in the hundreds of cake pics I looked at! Would you all spiral it tighter so that you see two layers on each side of the cake? I wish I could find more pics! When I make the flowers I’m going to have a bunch of short stems of flowers that i tape together when constructing them on the cake into one big chain of flowers. That makes it easy to shape however I want! I want to go get some styrofoam circles and a silk garland to see what I can come up with, lol. My colors are teal and dark purple so the colors will be similar to that first cake!

I found this picture that sort of gives you an idea of how it looks when you spiral them a bit tigher. Personally I think I like it a bit tighter, but that’s just me.
ETA: Sorry it’s so big. I have never posted a picture before and am having trouble.

That does look nice with the tighter spiral! Thanks so much!

I like small, random cascades & flowers on every layer.
