I am first to admit that I have no sense of style. Pretty much, I like simple dresses, slacks, and comfy shoes. My closet is pretty limited. But I have my engagement pictures on Monday and I am unsure of what to do. I bought this green dress awhile ago and am about 90% sure that this dress is perfect for it.
So, here’s where I need help. Because Chicago is freezing and we’ll be outside, I need to wear a sweater of some sort. I have like 100 cardigans, but I want to do either the black or white in either the long or short style.
As for shoes, I cant decide between my black pumps or my gold flats.
Please help me decide! (And please forgive my dog for photobombing and the large stack of boxes. We are not hoarders, just overrun with wedding items at the moment.)
Option 1: White, short sweater with gold shoes:

Option 2: Black, short sweater with black pumps:
Option 3: Black, long sweater with black pumps:

Option 3: (Because I’m too lazy to dig the white sweater out of the large laundry basket pictured behind me…) White, long sweater with gold flats.

I think that dress isn’t the most flattering shape for you, but would be better with a wide, black belt. Also, a higher heel is more flattering.

@RedAngelDreamer: I wish I had a higher heel! But I dont wear them at all. These are the only pair of actual heels that I own. Have any ideas on dress shapes that would look better?

I think something with a lower neckline and a wider belt would be a lot more flattering on your figure.
Why not just go with jeans, a sweater, and some heels or boots? I KNOW it’s freezing (and snowing) out in the midwest right now and you don’t want your legs to be frozen!

@PacificMrs: I’m very, very short (under 5 feet) and I am worried that jeans with boots would cut me off. I also dont have many pairs of heels! I am so not girly at all. But I do own a lot of dresses because of my work.

Btw, love the doggy! It looks like it’s contemplating your outfit.

@ohmybears48: I think it’s the full skirt that throws it off. Try something that’s an a-line without all the gathered fabric.

@ohmybears48: I don’t think it’d cut you off at all! In fact, I think a dress is more likely to cut you off than a pair of jeans and a cute sweater is, honestly.

@abirdword: HA! Thank you. She has been begging for attention all morning. She’s a constant photobomber.
I’m going to pull out hte jeans and see if I can come out with a better outfit.

Girl, go buy yourself a pair of nice heels and a new dress! Lol I bought 3 different outfits for my e shoot, got a headband from Tessa Kim and got my hair and makeup done not to mention a bunch of props and super large balloons! 😀 eshoots are soo fun and you get to be so much more creative than on the actual wedding day. Go all out!!
For inspiration check out blogs like ruffledblog.com or style me pretty. See what other girls wore and draw from that! Ours was featured on papermoon weddings.com 🙂 gl!

@Mrs.Kpop: I wish I could afford a new dress or had time! This weekend is packed. But I am getting hair, makeup, and nails done. We are only doing one outfit. We are just not very fussy about pictures. But our photographers are AWESOME! So no matter what I look like, I’m pretty sure, she’ll make me look great.
