so i’ve got two beautiful dresses that i love equally for different reasons. but i can’t decide which one to wear to which part (which is not a bad problem to have at all hehe)
the first is enzoani emporia, and i love the cloud of tulle at the bottom. i am thinking perhaps wear it to the ceremony because i would hate to bustle it and lose the poufy gorgeousness at the bottom. however i know that typically more form fitting dresses are worn at the reception. i’m planning on creating a sweetheart neckline and also adding a slightly thicker, blingier sash.
the second is martina liana 377. i don’t have a picture of me in it, but here is one i found on the internet of it on someone who looks to have a similar body shape to me. this was actually the first dress i bought and loved. it has alot of detail with the beaded bodice and silk flowers on the skirt, which i think would suit the evening portion. plus this would look good up close and would be easier to dance in.
this is going to sound really silly, but my planner was suggesting that because dress 2 is more expensive i should wear it to the ceremony as there will be more photos :/
thanks in advance bees!

@marchesa6989: the first one seems more of a entertaining dress. the second one is very romantic. good luck!

To me, the first one has a lot of poof (which I would hate to see you bustle!) but it also has the lace to keep it romantic and special for the ceremony. The second one is more sweet and fun. Plus I’ve tried on similar styles, and I bet it’s more comfortable fo the reception!

They seem so similar to me that I would just pick one and go for it. In a crowded room with low lights most people won’t even be able to tell that you changed.

I think the planner is right not because of the price because the guest won’t know the price but the 1st one is too gorgeous to bustle!!!

The first is so gorgeous!! I would want to wear that all night.

They both seem to have the same silhouette, so I don’t think one looks better than the other for the reception.
A agree that the tulle would be hard to bustle…and it’s probably more prone to damage. I’d wear that one for the ceremony.

First one for the ceremony, second one for the reception. The second one looks a lot easier to dance in. The first looks more delicate.

I voted to wear the first one to the ceeremony. I love them both, but the second dress looks more comfortable to dance in.

thanks for all the feedback bees! 🙂 really appreciate everyone’s input.
i’m a little surprised a few have said they look similar as i intentionally tried to find dresses that were quite different!! maybe the pictures of ML 377 doesn’t show it well but it is a definite a-line. i will add a crinoline underneath to give the skirt more volume from the waist down methinks.

Whenever I think reception dress I think party/short/sexy. Your first dress is sexy, lol. I say wear that to the reception. The second dress would be perfect for a ceremony! Plus, I think the first dress would be lighter at the reception – you’ll be able to move!

bump! 🙂 anyone else have thoughts?

@madteaparty: I agree! They are both gorgeous, but to me, they both look like ceremony dresses. I would go with the second one as the reception dress though, just because it may be more comfortable after all that eating, drinking and dancing! 🙂
