- Wedding: July 2011
I am absolutely in love with my venue, and really don’t think it requires much by way of decoration because it is already so beautiful by itself. But I do think it needs a little something draping along the banisters and maybe the balconies.
So far I’ve thought of draping tull, garlands of flowers (fake is all I can afford for that though), or big bows of ribbon with flowers in the middle of the bows. I can see pros and cons with all of these ideas (for example, I’m not the biggest fan of tull–it’s really poofy and that bothers me), so I’d really like to see if any of you bees have any creative ideas. Also–I planned to put candles on those giant banisters at the base of the staircases, but then found out their surfaces were not flat, so scratch that idea.
-we will become husband and wife on the landing at the base of the two staircases
-the bridesmaids will be lined up on the left staircase, the groomsmen on the right
-our colors are guava and hunter green with accents of golden yellow and sage green (and my dress is white, so I guess white is also a color)
-our “theme” is modern and fun
-daisies are our primary flower, but we’re also using a few lilies and roses
-we’re on a very tight budget
-I don’t want it to be too elaborately decorated–like I said, the venue is beautiful on its own!
These are the chandeliers in the room (you can’t see them in the other picture, but the run all the way through the room).
