@Meowkers:  If it were me I’d wallpaper it and turn it into a feature wall.  Then again, my first and only responses to an interior design problem are ‘wallpaper it’ and ‘turn it into a feature wall!’. Black mould? Feature wall! Too much glass making it hard to have privacy? Wallpaper it!

So yeah, maybe I’m not the best person to ask.

@Meowkers:  Or you could go to your local charity shop and find mirrors and/or antique photo frames and out up a mirror/photo collage. I really want to help but I have like, no good ideas.

Paint it!

Stripes, chevron, or stencil! You could do a tone-on-tone look, which would mean you could do a simple stencil in a glossy version of the color you have on the wall now. It would give you some decor and texture, but nothing loud.

You could also go with a totally different color. Or you could paint a chalkboard wall.

And when you get tired of it, you can paint over it and start fresh!

I think you definitely want something wide that elongates the wall and makes the room seem bigger, rather than something tall and narrow… What about  several floating shelves with books and some little decorations like vases and small potted plants? Or maybe – I can’t tell how wide the hallway in front of that wall is – a buffet/console table with a print hung above it, or with two lamps to add a little height?

DIY lettered art: buy cheap art at a thrift store, cut out stencils for letters, trace, and paint.

Another idea – since you don’t want to hang a big piece of art, you could make/find on Etsy 6 smaller prints, get some cheap Ikea frames, and hang them in a group of 6 to fill up the wall:

easy DIY - "je ne sais quoi" print

Or do something like this (I just made letters and an ampersand like this over the weekend but we haven’t hung them up yet so I don’t have any photos):

printable letters

If there’s a really awesome fabric you love, you could use a staple gun to stretch it over a large canvas and frame that instead of a painting.

Fetco Ebba Geometric Wall Decor

I’d do something large like this.

Fetco Arlo 5-pc. Sunburst Wall Mirror Setor a collection like this

Abstract Oval Mirror

or a mirror like this, hung either way you like it.

There’s lots of things you can do with that wall, and I agree that it is crying out for something. Hope you find a great piece!
