So I am having a summer wedding and love floral prints. I chose this dress for my Maid/Matron of Honor and then the same dress in different solid colors for my bridesmaids. Any suggestions on shoes, belts, jewelry, hair, etc. that could make these appear less preppy? My wedding will a farm to table outdoors wedding with lots of lighting, lanterns, flowers, dried flowers, fruits and vegetables, etc. Thank you in advance! (Sorry I couldn’t upload the picture for whatever reason).

Lilly pretty much screams preppy to me. The only thing i can think of to downplay that is to wear something like cowboy boots with the dress. It kind of sounds like you are planning a rustic wedding based on the above description, so I think that could fit in. Maybe brown cowboy boots and a matching thicker belt. Something like this…? http://www.pinterest.com/pin/427419820856121559/
I’m not sure if that is too casual for what you are going for, though.

misswhimsy: Given that it is a summer wedding in the outdoors, I would suggest a wedge. Heels just don’t work well on lawn, sod, etc A nude wedge will keep the focus on the dress.
comes in nude
also comes in nude
A solid color necklace for the Maid/Matron of Honor and multicolor for the BM’s
Necklaces are so inexpensive at Forever21 that you can wear 2 or 3 to get the lookand colors you want.

Krises: julies1949: Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to help me out. The Forever 21 necklaces are amazing… and such good prices! I appreciate the help 🙂

I would have to agree with Julies. Funky shoes/strappy heels and some statement jewelry like she posted is the way to go. Stay away from pearls, they scream prep when you pair them with florals. And choosing something in a color/contrasting color will help. Making all of the accessories and shoes all gold, silver etc… will just add to the look that the dress already brings with it.

Embrace the preppy! (I’m clearly biased hehe) I love the necklaces the PP posted as well 🙂

Lilly is all prep, no getting around that! I don’t think that’s a bad thing though…I love Lilly! If you want to tone down the prep, I’d personally go with more neutral/natural colors to balance the bright pink color/patterns. Vintage-esque jewelry might work; I really like the Forever21 necklaces a PP posted! I also agree with another PP about avoiding pearls…that would scream preppy to me. Different jewelry on each girl, like variation in style and/or color, or letting them pick their own shoes in a certain color might give it a more natural and farm-y feel. Basically, stay away from anything too put together or matchy
