So I bought a dress I love, but here’s the thing – I really feel like it needs a belt because the bottom and top are soooo different. Do you agree? But I am having a super hard time deciding what kind of belt matches best. You can’t see in this picture, but there are also little pearls and crystals among the lace at the top, so maybe something with that? Anyone have any ideas? I’m not opposed to anything as long as it “flows/matches” with the dress and isn’t oober loud.
Also, I am thinking about removing the lace at the top of the neckline to give it more of a v-neck/sweetheart shape. I feel like this would be more flattering on me, and the high neck is the only thing that wasn’t my favorite about the dress. What do you think? Any ideas on if this will add a lot of cost to alterations?
Lastly – what kind of jewlry goes best with this dress? Pearls? Gold/Silver? Rose Gold? Do I need a bracelet and and necklace and earrings or just some of those?
Thanks in advance ladies!!!

Hi there, gorgeous dress! I think a belt is a great idea. Is your dress a blush colour? (Not sure on my dodgy screen!) If so I’d perhaps try something like this:
Or something more with pearls
As for the neckline I think it probably would look good lower but I have no idea of cost. I’d defo make sure you check with a few seamstresses before going ahead to make sure the material is suitable.

Little pearl earrings and a bracelet would work! I personally think you dont need a belt, the dress is beautiful!

I actually think it looks great without a belt. It doesn’t look disjointed to my eye. I think it’s a swoonworthy dress!
I’d pair it with some blush pink pearl earings. Have a look on etsy. They have lots.

I would not have that beautiful lace compete with an embellished belt. If, however, you feel that you need a “line of demarcation”, a thin satin ribbon could be an alternative. In terms of jewelry/accessories, an elegant and not too flashy pair of pearl earrings and a romantic pearl headband (which I would suggest wearing with an updo with some volume):

I’m onboard with both your ideas. About the belt- I think it has to be a little bit thicker belt as the belt will move and may not stay on the line if it is thin. 2 ideas that i found are here:

Thank you so much for your feedback! Yes my dress is a blush/champagne type color. Technically “nude.” I love those belt ideas!

Thank you! I have been going back and forth about the belt idea so you saying you like it without gives me some confidence about that option! 🙂 Love the pearl earrings and bracelet idea.
Thank you! That’s a good point, I hadn’t thought about the lace having to compete! I haven’t tried just a simple ribbon, gonna get on that though. Loooove the headband and hair /earring idea!
awesome, thanks so much! I totally didn’t think about the belt moving. Really good point! I’m loving that second belt!
