@minipenguin:  Hi Sweetie, only you can decide who’s really worth it. This is your wedding and your vision. I can tell you that IMO when I went searching for a photographer I wanted a great observer. Somebody who sees and captures the special, moments that often go unoticed. And a photographer who develops the knack of predicting what will happen next and making sure he or she is ready to capture it. I also wanted somebody with LIKABILITY. Somebody who is fully at ease with other people and they have a sense of personal confidence that inspires trust. I feel that personal interactions allows the photographer to create animated, filled-with-life portraits…images that bring out the real personality and vitality of the wedding. So you just gotta go with your gut. Good Luck. P.S. I like Ale Sura’s work best.  🙂

@minipenguin:  I’m confused.  1400 for engagement photos + 8 hrs photography + prints can’t be right??  That is SO LOW!

@minipenguin:  Gotcha!  Well I feel like going with a local photog presents a lot less logistical issues than flying someone in, so I’d go that route even if it didnt’ save a ton of money (which it does!).

Laura Pardo uses trendy editing to cover up exposure mistakes and poor composition. It’s really inconsistent work but it’s what I would expect for her pricing based out of New York. I’m not a fan at all.

I do like Ale Sura’s work more but her pricing is alarmingly low. Please please please be sure to check with her that she has liability insurance, professional gear, solid experience, and professional back up gear.

I like Alex Sura better… I think the photos are more creative and original.

But… both photographers get extremely close to the couple during the ceremony… like right in your face close… I think that would bother guests, and obstruct the view for some.

    Anyway, I like Alex’s work.
