We’re going to be moving in LESS THAN A MONTH! I am so excited to FINALLY get out of my parents’ home and get a PLACE OF OUR OWN. One of the things we’ll need is a dining room set.
Please post your dining room set – one you own, one you like, one you’re getting, etc. Our budget is around the $500 range. I’d like one with at least 4 chairs, prefer 6 if we can get it in the price range. I like furniture that is more modern, but still warm and I’d really like for the seats to be cushioned so everyones butt can be comfy when they come over for all the dinner parties I’m obviously going to throw. Nothing too formal, since this is going to go in the kitchenette area.
Here is an example of a set I like (I prefer darker wood):

Try making your own set thats what we did. We (well I since Fi didnt care) got exactly what we wanted
I bought this base from pier 1 ($75-ish):
These chairs ($300 for 4)
And used a recycled hand me down glass top (free!)
I was worried about the woods not matching but it actually looks like its own set. We plan on getting a larger glasstop and adding two more chairs down the line. Four is fine to start with

Can’t find a picture, but we have a 2-seater high top table for our tiny little kitchen. It was $90 on sale at a local furniture store! Love the picture you posted, very good looking 🙂

Craigslist!!! Antique stores, thrift stores, and estate sales. Paint will work magic, too!
My set for the eat-in kitchen is my parent’s hand-me-down. I still need to find a set for the dining room.

I second Craigslist and/or DIYing. If you find a set that’s been stained a color that you don’t like, you can use CitriStrip and restain, or you can sand and repaint.
Orrr check Amazon, Overstock, etc. I was going to suggest American Freight, but they aren’t in SC.

Why didn’t I think of DIY??? I can SO do that and I would totally enjoy it! Thanks!
